I read some reviews on how the bottle isn't big enough, or you can't get the nib down far enough to get the ink, but really, it isn't all that bad. You can easily get a new inkwell or get a small bottle to put the ink in, or new ink entirely. The bottle isn't that difficult to open, and it isn't annoying either. It just seems like a normal ink bottle. My mother said she remembered when she was younger breaking the seal of ink bottles, just like how you open this one. The quality of the ink itself is great, and the colour is a dried blood red shade, which is entertaining for my teachers when I write with this quill pen on homework assignments. It's true, the nib doesn't hold much ink, but really, what nib does? Do you want the nib to hold a whole bottle of ink? Oh wait. They've already invented that: IT'S CALLED A PEN. It's true, the nib is in the shape of a pointing finger, and I find it pretty cool, to tell you the truth. The design of the whole quill itself is beautifully crafted, and is fun to just look at and see what shapes you come across. I am studying the Wiccan religion, and have made a "Book of Shadows" for myself. For the dedication page, to the God or Goddess of my choosing, it was nice to write in a flowing script instead of normal block lettering. Also, for those who are Wiccans or Harry Potter fans and like to write with Quills, then I would suggest getting parchment paper, that way, the ink won't bleed through the paper or run at all. In conclusion, this quill pen is the most fun and entertaining thing I've come across, and is great for Christmas, Birthday, or just random present for any age.

The weight is wonderful, the craft magnificent, and the sheen off of the blue black feather is ideal. While I dislike the ink bottle, and the screw on cap covered in some form of wax or whetted ink black, I can easily get a new inkwell. Over all I love it, I only recommend that before first use holding the nib over a gentle flame to get the thin invisible layer of wax off of it.

It looks great, for some, but it didn't blow me away. The bottle is narrow and it's not easy to dip the pen. Second, you have a very limited amount of ink to write with before you have to dip the pen again. The feather looks good but feels too synthetic (I don't know if it is or not). The nib resembles a hand and doesn't hold a decent amount of ink. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it.

The weight and feel of this beautifully crafted pen is excellent! (The ink bottle is a little strange, but the ink itself is fine.) This makes for gorgeous calligraphy and everyday writing too.

I bought this pen sometime last year and I've been using it ever since. I think that it's a great pen. It may be hard to use at first but once you figure out how to hold it and at what angle is best to write at, it writes pretty well. I wouldn't say that it is the best pen in the world but I would say that I like it a lot more than some other pens that I have bought before. It's rather stylish as well.

It's really pretty, and it made me happy when I got it as a birthday gift. Once I figured out how to open the package, and accually go to try and use it, it wasn't all that great. I'm glad my friend gave me a different bottle o' ink as well, as I can't figure out how to get the bottle o' ink that came with it open.
