    Nice

    I have bought one set of these in white and two sets in black. I must say I like the black much better; they look "richer" to me and I gave them a 5 star rating. Most rooms in my home are decorated in a way that the black bookends suit the rooms better but I have one guest bedroom I call my "country room" and the white works well in that room where the furniture is light oak and I have a country floral quilt on the bed. I do believe the white color looks more "country" or "rustic" while the black does not.
    I never noticed what the other reviewer mentioned about poor design and do not think most people would either.
    For the money these are great. They do the job, are decorative, are light weight and do not take up much space. I am actually considering buying another black set for my living room! I could put these in any part of my house and be happy with them.

    Poor Design Choice

    Found these bookends in a store and purchased them because the lattice work is gorgeous. The problem is the way they are put together. What is obvious in the on-line picture was hidden by a sales label in the store. The "pretty" part of the bookend is mounted inside the bottom bracket, instead of on the outside. This is unfortunate because it breaks up the beauty of the panel which is the reason that I purchased them to begin with. This may not bother some people, but I will be returning these this week. Very disappointing.

    Pretty and light

    We wanted simple bookends which weren't too heavy bc they are for the shelf in our daughters room. These are perfect and they are pretty also
