I ordered this product yesterday, and received it this morning! Couldn't believe how fast that was! I had read reviews in Amazon, but used B&N to order to achieve large points from my MYpoints (if you want to join and be helpful you can enter my name in the referral section...Pamela Plumley). Anyway, this is a good massager. I've had others before many times. Usually, they are the type that just go up against your back, but this one lays on your neck which is helpful when I'm on the laptop or watching TV. I have a Brookstone, but it has 4 spinning heads and is really rough. This shiatsu is not so rough, just right. You can also turn it upsidedown to reach lower areas on your neck/shoulders. You can move it around to hit certain tender spots.
I like that it has the optional mode for vibration and shiatsu combined, or just vibration or just shiatsu, with or without heat, as sometimes I need different types of massage. I have fibromyalgia, spinal arthritis and degenerative disc disease, so neck pain is a constant challenge for me. It is not made for lower shoulder areas, but, you can turn it upsidedown and just push it down to reach those areas. For the low dollars on this, it's worth the purchase. Glad I got it! Just one warning-in previous use of Homedics products, I've noticed that you must be careful not to run it too long too often. It recommends 15 minutes, and let it rest. This way, you don't burn out the motor...caution is key.
