Loved the functionality, however I learned the hard way that the magnets inside the cover which allow it to stand like an easel are so strong they they caused damage to my cell phone when carried together inside my purse.

I definitely did a bit of research before this purchase. I knew right off the bat that I really wanted something that would protect my Nook, but also looked sleek and classy without drawing too much attention. The material is really soft, and the entire cover is very well made. It's really easy to slip the Nook into, and once it's in there it doesn't come out easily (which is good). You can stand it up vertically or horizontally, which comes in handy for me. It doesn't add a whole lot of weight to the Nook itself, so holding it is comfortable. I absolutely suggest it to anyone who intends to take it out to coffee shops, parks, etc. It's very discreet while also classy. Very happy with my purchase!

Was searching for a Nook cover that would allow hands-free reading and the book-style covers stand straight up. While the Industriell Easel does provide an angle, it is not always a comfortable angle for reading. Would be nice if the grosgrain belt length could be several inches longer to allow for additional angles. Until a way to "extend" the belt can be devised, I will continue to use "found objects" as a means to prop Nook at a comfortable angle.
Side note: On a recent trip, found that our hotel room keys were constantly being de-magnetized, which has never happened before. Since the Nook w/Industriell Easel was the only change in travel gear, am wondering if the belt's magnet was strong enough to cause this phenomenon, despite keeping the two items separate (Nook carried underarm and key in pants pocket).

I had to get my NOOK replaced and the areas on the touch screen that lost function were located around the spot the magnet rested on the cover. Magnets and electronics are not compatible.

I love this cover. I was hesitant about the easel format, but it turns out that is what I like most about it. It adds thickness to the Nook in the right places, making it easier to hold. I can also position the magnet-ribbon-latch in such a way to sort of cantilever or balance the tall tablet so that it's easier to read when I'm prone in bed. I use the easel feature when I'm reading while eating (bad idea, I know) but most importantly, while I'm using my recipes, which I have transferred from my computer to my Nook, in the kitchen.

I chose this cover to buy with my NookColor a few months ago and I am never disappointed. It folds over very nicely and holds very comfortably in my hands.
I was debating, at the time, this one or one of the more expensive ones that opens to the side and zips shut. The seller recommended this one for it's sturdiness and protection. I chose it for that reason, and because it completely folds over and latches back out of the way as I read. It's just as protective and comfortable as a casual reader could want.

The easel feature attracted me as well as the magnet clip. I certainly believe it will last longer than an elastic band. Its a sturdy cover and easy to hold in your hands. Sadly, I had to exchange it because the magnet made me very uneasy. I initially thought the magnet was only in the clip. The magnet is actually within the cover! If it wasn't for a paper clip attached to the cover I would never have noticed this. I think it's a great cover that I felt would protect my new nook but the magnet was a deal breaker for me.

I like one hand reading and this fits the bill perfectly. I'm always the one bending books way to far so I can hold them in one hand. This is why I love my Nook Color and this protective cover for it. I have even set up like an easel on my tummy when lying flay on my back to read.

Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.I've been searching for an easel-style cover for my nook color, and there aren't many choices out there. I decided to go with the B&N easel cover because I like the 3-point mounting system, and the minimal design is nice and fairly neutral looking. The main feature of the cover--the easel design--seems to work well. The one feature I really don't care for is the magnetic strap closure. Brand new right out of the box, the magnet has already left some dents in the front cover. I imagine a few months from now it'll be looking pretty rough. When you have the cover propped up as an easel, the magnet serves practically no purpose other than to just barely cling on the flipped-over side of the cover. It does add a bit of stability, but not much. The strap itself is cheap looking and reminds me of a seatbelt...not very aesthetically pleasing. Overall, I feel like the magnetic strap is just sloppy-looking and is an unfortunate flaw in this otherwise nice case.

I love to read and set the Nook on my lap, or stomach. This cover works great!!
The magnetic strap is strong enough that once when I almost dropped it - my hand caught the strap and it was on there so tight it saved my Nook from a fall!! I noticed the comment about the magnet being too strong for a cell phone near it, and fortunately I have not had any problem with that, although the two are not in direct contact in my purse.
Also for reading a recipe, or knitting- this cover makes it easy to set it up on a table and read from it, as well as keeping it away from any potential spills if it were flat on the table.
Love it!!

First of all, it fits perfectly. Some other covers stay slightly open unless clasped close...not this one. I only need to use the clasp when putting in a bag. And, I love the portrait opening...it really reduces the footprint of the Nook (even though it is less book-like). It gets a little dirty but not too bad.
About the only drawback is that you cannot charge the nooks when the cover is closed and clasped since the belt covers the charging port, but that's not a serious impediment to me.

The stitching was perfect and the neoprene cover and micro fiber lining feel great to the touch. Does not add much additional weight to the NOOKcolor, so it is easy to grasp.

I agree with whomever said that it caused damage to their nook, i have had my case for 5 months and have had trouble when i highlight words around the magnet they stay that way till i power off my nook then turn it back on. Also i thought it would be nice for hands free reading but it hirts my neck and will sometimes fall down on me even when i have the magnet connected. If i know now what i do about this product i would.not recomend it or with reservation cuz half the time its annoying to get highlights off of words around the magnet.

Well-designed except that when closed the headphone jack is inaccessible. No big deal, I made my own hole with a leather punch, but this should have been thought of as many folks, like me, like to use their NOOK as a music player while not necessarily reading and keep the NOOK stowed in a bag where it's best to have the cover closed to avoid bumps and scratches.

I am glad the store rep directed me to this one when I said I wanted to read hands free a lot. Sturdy and doesn't show wear very much at all. Holds the NookColor securely and stands up well.

This cover is the perfect one for me. I use it as an easel when I am eating lunch and want both hands free. If I'm reading in bed, I just slide my fingers in between the front and back cover and I don't even have to grip the nook. Keeps my hand from cramping. Highly recommend.

I first purchased a book style cover for my Nookcolor and I liked it but I saw this and it instantly appealed to me. It's very slim; so it fits in my workbag and purse. I like the closure because it covers the charging opening. It also can be easily used as an easel if that is how you like to read. I highly recommend it!!

Overview
Sleek and modern, the Industriell Easel Cover has been custom-tailored for your NOOK Color or Nook Tablet. The strong polyurethane shell is comfortable to hold and provides excellent protection against shocks. But that's not all: if you'd like to read in portrait mode while keeping your hands free, the grosgrain belt closure is at your command. You can extend it straight back or loop it under, depending on the desired screen angle: either way, the magnetic clip creates a solid, stable base. Inside the case, there is a microfiber lining in a warm dark-gray shade, and a 3-point clip mechanism to securely hold the device while providing full access to the ports and controls. A small recess has been engineered into the lining ...
