This adaptor works fine. However, the black casing prevents the connector from fitting any of my 3 iPod touch cases (all are standard cases you can buy at Best Buy - nothing fancy or odd) so I can't use it without taking my iTouch out of the case.
In addition, the overall size of the enclosure is larger than it needs to be (it's just a voltage converter). Finally and most importantly, it cost $30 ... WAY too much for what it does and what it probably cost to make, but this is the trend with iPod accessories ... they always cost far more than is appropriate for the device.
I'll give it 3 stars because even with the case compatibility, size, and cost issues, as it appears to be similar to other adaptors in all these areas. But if you can find a smaller, less expensive unit that fits at least some standard iTouch cases, I'd recommend you pass on the Schosche.
I purchased this for use in my car, but I only spend about 30 minutes in the car every day and have USB chargers everywhere else that I use my iTouch. If I had a long commute or any other considerable need for the converter, I would return it and find something else.
Overview
If you’ve ever received the error message, "charging is not supported with this accessory," then you know how frustrating it can be. Here’s your passport to peace of mind. The Scosche passPORT USB charging adapter allows accessories that do not support USB charging to work with iPod and iPhone, including older car integration systems. With this lightweight, pocket size, super-handy device, you’ll never worry about incompatible charging again.
