I work at a Barnes & Noble store and this is the worst case we have! It scratches VERY VERY easily and the leather is so shiny that you would think that it was recycled from a dominatrix's old outfit! The badge on the lower right corner on the front of it is awful looking. Before you click on "purchase," go take a look at it in a B&N store, it'll change your mind for sure!

The finish on this cover is misrepresented in the online photos, and what idiot thought it would be a good idea to put a model number and "description" on the front of the case?
I know what it is and where I bought it, that isn't luxury, it's stupidity.
Barnes & Noble needs to drop this designer -- F.

This cover looks like ass.
I went to look at the covers in person after hearing mixed reviews on all of them. The item sold here looks NOTHING... and I mean NOTHING like the picture.
It does look like a stripper suit and the quality is that of Claire's. It's repulsive and certainly shouldn't be holding your $200+ piece of machinery.
Step away from the ugliness, there are pretty covers elsewhere.

I loved this shiny black case and the grey interior is really sleek. However, I thought the label in the bottom right corner was removable (bought it in store). Who in the world would think that a product label is stylish? Returning this for something else!

I was looking forward to a nice case to cover my brand-spanking new NookColor. I wanted nothing less than leather to cover this beauty.. I thought this cover would do the trick. However, there is a label in the lower right corner that seriously detracts from this cover.. The label is a B&N partnumber and says type:luxury cover.
Really? Tacky.
Like another reviewer, I thought this was a removable label. It didn't take long to find out that this wasn't the case. Dissapointing, to say the least. Looks like it'll be going back to the store while I find something a bit nicer for my $.

It does not look nice at all...totally not worth the money. I am super bummed bc I missed that it was patent leather and bought it for my husband for Christmas. The pictures are not a good representation of the product! Would not recommend!

Don't do it! The online vesion does not represent the actual cover. What you get truly is patent leather, like the shiny shoes little girls wear, not the muted version you see online. And you get a plastic label outlined in white with white letters that appears removable (it's not!)instead of the classy looking muted black embossed label that appears on the online version. Extremely disappointing!

I would never have bought this had I know the label was permanently printed on. I kept it because I thought it was just a very thin label and eventually I'd wear and edge of it up and then I could get it off. I took it to a B and N today and they verified it is printed on.
I feel cheated.

When I purchased my NOOKCOLOR I wanted a pretty cover like the ones sold for the regular NOOK. I could not find one until I saw this cover. Being a girly girl it reminded me of the Easter shoes I used to wear when I was a young girl. My only complaint is regarding the tag on the front. It was not visible when I bought the cover and when I noticed it I thought that I would be able to remove it. Yes, the tag is tacky but I can live with it. Unfortunately, there are no other options. We need more attractive covers for the NOOKCOLOR!

Very unhappy when I received it. Didn't expect it to be shiny and the label is horrible.

I'm surprised by all the negative reviews as well as the, uh, creative associations some people seem to have with patent leather! It's actually a very pretty cover. It's cool, shiny, and smooth to the touch and the interior is a soft gray. I took off one star for the label in the corner which I admit is a bit odd, but not a huge deal as it's fairly subtle. So it's not for everyone - but what is? I'm happy with it.

It's a great accessory for me & I takie it with me wherever I go.

Loving my new Nook Color but this case is horrible. The patent leather is so shiney it reminds me of the shoes we rented for my brothers wedding. And what IDIOT decided to add the marking on the front that states "product NOOK" followed by "model #BN100723" and a 3rd line stating "type: luxury case". How stupid is it to put that on the outside front (you can faintly see it on the images-lower right). In reality you cant miss it, and your patent leather finish shows every fingerprint and smudge from the oils of your skin. Why would I want to advertise the model number for the case, or that it is the "luxury" one like I am trying to impress people. This mark should have been on the inside pocket. It is a disaster, pick another case or write me, you can have this one for free!

Okay, obviously it's my fault as I totally missed the word 'patent' in the description. But tell me... does the picture suggest PATENT leather in ANY way? No. It does not!
Returning it immediately, patent leather is not my style nor very functional as a book cover.
B&N? Change your photo. It's terribly misleading!!

I should have looked more closely at the cover. Who wants a nice patent loeather cover that gives the specs? I thought that maybe the label would peel off, but it did not. Returned it for something less flashy.

I would not have purchased it had I seen it. I did manage to cover most of it with some creative sticker placement. (lovely pink orchids) The cover shows fingerprints very easily and looks 6 months old, not 6 weeks old. Not the best cover I've seen

Who wants a sticker that says, "Luxury Case" on the front? Looks like it should come off but it doesn't. Taking it back. How irritating.

I agree - I bought this case as I absolutely love anything Black Patent - thought it was a sticker but found I couldn't remove - took back to store thinking it was just me and she told me that it is suppose to stay on front - Model #? Luxury Case? Ridiculous - I returned the case.

I purchased this cover because I love anything that comes in patent leather, but the label in the corner can't be removed! It completely detracts from the look of the cover. Go back to the drawing board on this one for a re-design.

This is just ridiculous. Either the cases aren't available at ALL (with no availability date known) or you end up getting a piece of well-photographed junk like this case. This is the cheesiest case! Poorly made with the worst synthetic materials known to man. Way to go B&N... thank God they don't make car tires...
