I've already written a review for the black one, so now I'll do this one. We have both. This light is VERY lightweight and handy. It has little grippy pads that keep it completely secure clipped either to your Nook itself or to the cover. I love that they offer it in both black and white. It's bright enough to light up the whole screen, so that it can be kept stationary. You can angle it to avoid a glare on the screen. It will light up some of a dark room too, but I'd rather have that than my other (Wal-Mart buy) book light which is dim enough to avoid that problem, but has to be hand held and moved along as I read. We love these B&N lights. I think they are worth the money to get something so small and handy. We carry them around on our covers and they never fall off.

My wife tried a couple of other book lights before the Nook light became available. The Nook light is small and simple and defintely the best light we have found for her Nook Simple Touch.
Hey Nook Folks...For an even better customer experience, consider a light that turns off every 30 minutes. This "sleep" feature would save users like my wife considerable money on batteries since I often find that she has fallen asleep late at night while reading Nook...and the light stays on. Even better...consider a backlight feature to the Nook itself.

...it's light weight, compact, easily adjustable, however, after 20 minutes the light starts to dim...10 minutes later I turn it off because it's too dim to continue reading. I've used it a total of six times since receiving it at Christmas, and can never use it more than 30 minutes at a time.

I like the look of it, as well as it's maneuverability. when I move the neck it stays in place (which I've noticed is not always the case for some of the flexible necked lights I've used).
CONS: I don't like the white of the LED light. It's very harsh and unflattering in my opinion. Also, if the light is directed nicely over my screen where I'd like it to be, it reflects off of the screen (which it doesn't do on my books) which makes a bright ring on the center of the screen- I can point it at the side of my nook or on the case which solves the problem but then the ambient light points to my husband in bed and illuminates his face :( --I realize this might be an issue with any light on a nook screen, but I think perhaps a different light would direct or sheild the light better? I wouldn't know though, I have yet to try anything different, but I'll probably look eventually- and try it out in the store.
Until then, this light suits it's purpose well.
Happy Reading!!

I love read and now I will be able to read in the car while traveling. I placed my light in the middle top area of my NOOK and turned the light at an angle and I have no glare and can see the whole page. I am very happy with this product.

The first light I bought died within a few weeks of purchase. Uh-oh... I brought it back to the store and they promptly gave me a new one. I was concerned the same thing would happen again, but now I have had the light for nearly 2 years without a single problem. I read every night for between 30-60 min and the batteries last for over a month. They are cheap and easy to replace. I have not experienced some of the issues mentioned in other reviews. It suffers plenty of abuse and never falters, the light intensity is perfect for reading, even in complete darkness. It seems there may be a few bad apples out there, as I found with my first unit, but a quick replacement has more than met my expectations. It should also be noted that you would only need a light like this if you are using a reader that is not back-lit. I use it with my first generation nook, and today I am buying another one for my mother to use with those old-fashioned books written on real paper. I will update my review if she happens to get a bad apple.

I have now gone through 5 of these lights- they die very quickly. The associates in the store are always helpful and willing to exchange it, but I would rather have one that lasts more than a couple weeks before dying and flickering.

This is the strangest thing I have ever seen. A Nook is technollogy, therefore it lights up on its own. Why do you need more technollogy to light up technollogy that already lights up???? My sister liked it, but I have no idea why she needed it.

The rest... The clip wasn't very strong, so it would work itself off after a while. And the neck came unglued from the clip. I've tried re-gluing it and it just doesn't stay together, so now I have a little light on a stick. (The store wouldn't take it back because the return period was over. Even though it was a quality issue.)
The Lyra light cover is so much better than getting this light.

It works okay if you're in a room with limited light, but it's way too bright if you are using it to read in complete darkness.
