I picked up Men's Health from a buddy of mine a couple of years back. Since then I have been reading it religiously every issue. This magazine is packed with tips from working out to preparing delicious home-cooked meals. It gives inspirational stories about other people that have succeeded in loosing weight and how they did it. My girlfriend will read it on occasion (although they do have Women's Health). If nothing else, I suggest you at least pick up one issue from the store, but you will soon have a subscription.

This is a great gift for the guy in your life. I got it for my husband and found myself reading it a lot too. Yes, a lot of stuff about abs, but lots of really good health tips. I even learned that microwaving broccoli destroys more vitamins than steaming, almonds and apricots are full of antioxidants, etc. Lots of great info in a very entertaining "Quick hit" format, plus lots of in-depth articles too.
