    If you can afford only one children's magazine, this is the one to buy.

    I'm delighted to see that RANGER RICK is now on the Nook. I grew up on Ranger Rick, and now my kids can, too. I just bought a subscription and handed my Nook over to my nine-year old. She says the animal photos are awesome!

    Ranger Rick is GREAT!

    This magazine brings children close to wild animals and encourages an appreciation of the natural world around us. I have used "Ranger Rick" and "Your Big Backyard" magazines, from the National Wildlife Federation, with my elementary school students for many years, and every year they love them! It encourages not just a love of and appreciation of nature, but it also encourages the students to read. They can't wait for the next edition to arrive so they can learn more about animals. Even the reluctant readers and students with learning challenges eagerly read these magazines.
