I've had a print subscription to this magazine for years, and it is my favorite. However, I am no longer renewing this or any of my other magazines because I no longer want to contribute to the paper (waste), and would prefer to receive this digitally, and automatically, each month to my NOOK. Thank You.

Scientific American is a terrific publication and one of the greateest magazines in print. I've been reading it for a lot of years and today, it's better than ever. Always interesting, lively and readable, never dumbed down in any way. If you want to know where the world is really headed, and get past politics and fluff, read this magazine.

SA updated its format to provide flashier presentation several years ago but the content has sadly gone downhill as they have opened up to the "soft" sciences and became big proponents of the anthropogenic global warming hypothesis. I cancelled my 20+ year subscription precisely because I felt I could no longer trust the content -- too much emphasis on style and entertainment and too little on solid science IMHO. On the plus side, SA still presents a wide variety of articles and subject areas but you have to read more carefully to see where article selection or editing may have been influenced by popular faddism.
