    Misleading product

I was disappointed to find that the book isn't about the 7D at all. It is a generic DSLR guide that was not what I thought I was buying. This is basically an instructional DVD and little else. If it was labeled more clearly as such, I wouldn't have been so disappointed. If you are looking for a book about the 7D, look elsewhere.

    I Also Recommend:

Magic Lanter's Canon EOS 7D, Multimedia Workshop

Was always told how great Magic Lantern books were, so looked forward to this coming out. Waited while it was postponed many times, then.....what a letdown. The book itself does not talk about the specific camera, but digital SLR's in general. It's only saving grace was one of the two CD's included. At least it gave a somewhat understanding of the 7D. Many times though, the CD asked you to refer to the book, but as stated the book was a generalization of digital SLR's not 7D specific. The 2nd included CD was a general overview of Photography. For those alreay accustomed to photography it was a letdown. All in all, this wasn't worth the $25.00. The whole package would've been 100% better if the book itself refered to the camera at hand, in this case the EOS 7D.

    EOS 7D Book Review

As in any product I do read what others have wrote about the product but I don't listen rely on their point of view only. This book/DVD's were very informative. Upon the purchase of it, a friend has a similar Canon DSLR and he recommended the book. I'm glad I bought it as I knew first hand the book had little to do with the teachings but rather the DVD. Watching the DVD and having my 7D in hand is the way to go. I learned more about my camera than reading any book alone. I did purchase another book but again, books are not as informative as watching and following along with your camera in hand. I would recommend this book for it's DVD's. I was wanting to join a class at my local photography store but upon watching the DVD's I can save money and skip the class.

    Great resource

The book is well-written with good illustrations. And the included DVD is excellent. It's well-organized and shows every feature clearly. For someone new to the Canon EOS 7D, this is the ideal resource.
