I ordered this product but returned only because I did not know same came with Nook when I ordered. The AC Adapter and usb Cable that came with Nook works perfectly.

I agree with many of the positive reviews of this product. It's handy and I use it for more than just my nook. However, I wish they would make a model with a longer cord. 3' does not give you many options to comfortably read while it is charging.

As all of you know, the 10 day usage advertised is a joke even with the airplane mode on. I am lucky to get 10 hours of usage before needing to recharge. I don't find that too upsetting though as long as I have this extra cable. One thing though, I wish it was about 6 inches longer.

The overall rating of this item is misleading since negative reviewers are complaining about their failure to read Nook product details and bought this adapter by mistake. One reviewer actually complained it is too small! Huh? Don't be misled, this is one of the most compact USB Micro-B chargers on the market and if you ever wander outside the home, you will love using it every time, especially overseas where it automatically adjusts to 220V. B&N really did a great job. With this tiny wonder, you can charge your Nook, Blackberry, Droid, Bluetooth headset, iPod (with its own cable), or any other compatible USB rechargeable. It has become the most important electronic accessory I own and I take it with me around the world. I am buying a spare -and the pair will still mean less volume and weight in my bag than one iPod adapter! Costs less too.

Returned mine. When ordering my Nook, the information encouraged me to buy the Adapter Kit. The Nook comes with one. Have no need for a second one unless you have a second home and don't wish to pack it each time.

You know that eBay has 6 foot Micro USB cables for a fraction of the price. If you just want a longer cable, take a look at eBay. I scored mine for $4 shipped.

the price is a bit high for a power adapter, but a must have since the nook only comes with one ac adapter.

I can always keep reading on the next trip. I did buy it because it wasn't clear that the Nook does come with one, but I kept the extra charger and am very happy I did.

My husband lost my charger on a trip and replaced it with this one. It does not seem to work. I had it plugged in for hours and the charge went up from 62 to 63%.
Now the battery is so low I cannot get it to start back up and it's been in the charger (plugged into the wall) for hours. The plug is hot, the nook is hot, the battery is still dead.....

I really like the adapter and USB cable that I ordered for my Nook. I know that I got one with my Nook, but I wanted to order an extra as I am always traveling and I keep the extra on with my Nook case I need it, and I keep the other adapter hooked up at home so that I can just plug it in when the battery is low (just like I do my cell phone). My son found out that he could also use it to charge up his I-Pod when he lost his I-Pod charger. The versatility and convenience make this product a good buy. I am glad that I bought the extra adapter!

I already had an adaptor and cable but liking the Nook so much, I took it on travel frequently. After forgetting the original adaptor and cable a couple of time, I decided to get a spare. The kit is easy to use and store, and of course the clever design also allows you to plug into a laptop or PC to download updates and other books! Economical and elegant design.

There is not much to say about this device--it does the job for which it was designed. I wish the makers would also provide an adapter to use in the car. It is not that I will be reading, but I might want to play music or listen to an audio book.

I'm looking for a cord that is long enough so that I don't have to sit on the darn floor to read while my Nook charges up! Got any 8 or 10 foot lengths?

I recently lost my wall charger, but for the time I had it, I found it very useful, especially when I did not have my computer or just wanted to charge it quickly. I still have the cord, however, and wish there was a way to buy the wall attachment by itself. Other than that, I love that the device comes with a charger and a wall piece, unlike many other portable electronics I own.

This is only necessary if you need a spare cord/plug converter. It appears to be a standard plug to USB converter and a regular size USB to mini-USB cord.

This is for the Nook version 1. This is a great adapter and it works on other electronic devices also! For those that that bought it not knowing there was one in the box and you did not need it, why rate the item as a 1?? It does not mean it is not a great adapter, you just did not need it and that has nothing to do with a rating. Just a thought.
Anyway I had one and purchased another because I travel and never wanted to be without my Nook!! I left it at home during a trip and almost ran out of power!!Yikes!! So one stays at home and one stays in my suitcase. Fantastic and cheaper online then in the store-go figure!!

Not good for reading with this cord pluged into your nook. The cord bends where it plugs into the nook and over time the wires inside cord break and then charger no longer works.

I read so much that I have an extra cord that I keep in my purse when I run out of juice at work! It is a must have extra. It is something that you think you don't really need and can wait to get or don't need it. WRONG!! Having one at Home and one on the Go is a must for the Nook reader.

Overview
This handy kit will help you get the most out of your nook. When you want to charge the battery from a wall outlet, simply connect the cable to the included AC adaptor; when you want to sync nook with your computer, you can plug the cable into a USB port. Light in weight and compact in size, the kit is also a perfect travel companion.
