I read all the reviews previous to mine and since I loved my Nook Color so much and therefore wanted to protect it from fingerprints etc. I ignored the negative reviews. I went ahead anyway and bought the screen protector kit. I wiped the Nook screen clean first with a cloth that I usually cleaned my laptop screen with. I made sure there was no fuzz or any dust on the Nook. I did just as one of the reviewers said with my own adjustments - I pulled the covering of the protector slightly down and matched the top carefully with the top edge of the Nook color screen. I made sure not to touch the underside of the screen protector or the Nook screen with my fingers during application and used the protector cover to help slide the cover down. It took two tries to match the top edges perfectly, but on the second one I got it right and then pulled it slowly and carefully down the screen pressing it gently all the way down to the bottom. It worked. My protector has no bubbles, no dust and actually looks as if there is nothing on the Nook screen. At first after it was put on, it looked as though it had rainbow colours on it, but not anymore. They seemed to have disappeared. I love it. It just takes a bit of patience to get it right. I hope that this was helpful. I don't usually write reviews, but after I applied the screen protector and was so happy with it, I mentioned the negative reviews I had read online to my husband. He suggested that I write my own review for this product and so I did.

It is easy to apply. It requires a minimal amount of patience and basic problem solving skills. Make sure your screen and hands are clean. Don't touch the underside of the screen protector and don't peel the entire plastic backing off all at once you can do it slowly as you work the bubbles out with a credit card. If your incabable of applying it yourself I'm certain an employee or friend would be happy to help. This product has gotten bad reviews and I cannot understand why.

It was easy to self-apply, with no bubbles either! Just slowly put it on and rub a credit card over it as you go. Don't pull the whole thing off though, go slow. I got it right the first time. I am way happy and my NOOK Color is beautiful and protected. I do not know why people are giving this a bad rating, I was skeptical about buying it at first. Glad I did not listen and purchased it anyways. RECOMMENDED!!!!

The problem with applying these screen protectors is that it the sticky back attracts dust and anything else and once its there you will get air bubble and you will not be able to remove the specks. Don't even think about touching or using something to try to remove a dust speck from the back of the protector. It's adhesive and you'll just contaminate it further. Very frustrating. You either have to be extremely lucky or you have to work in a clean environment where they manufacture Intel CPUs to put these on right. invisibleShield protectors are so much easier and hassle free to apply than these types of protectors. Buyer beware!

He got it on in a matter of seconds and no bubbles. You don't need a clean room to put this on. You could also go to Best Buy and pay $15 for them to do it for those who complained.

Just take your 16.95 plus tax and throw it in the street and put a match to it. Unless you have a "clean room" in your house or you yourself are perfect this is a total waste. You only get two pieces of film for your money and a little piece of cloth in which to get your screen perfectly clean before applying. First of all DO NOT touch the adhesive side, start pushing out air bubbles from middle and reposition as needed. Really?!. I want back my $17.00 and the hour of my life I spent pushing at air bubbles and "repositioning" while trying not to touch. I feel like an idiot. What a piece of trash! P.S. My over priced pieces of film are in the trash and I spent 16.95 for a little bit of cloth.

I was unable to apply either of these films without ending up with bubbles and unstuck edges. I was meticulous, and I've successfully used these kinds of protectors before, but the edges on this one would not sit down cleanly. I didn't end up with a usable screen protector.

I like the clear one versus the anti-glare since it lets the screen stay sharp. The caveat though is that it has made the touchscreen less sensitive, making me have to use more pressure and making more mistakes than before.

Complete waste of money unless you have a commercial grade clean-room to apply them. ANY slight piece of anything leaves an air bubble. it is impossible to apply these. the microfiber cloth leaves/deposits enough "dust" or whatever that these were a waste of money.

Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.I first tried this back in December when I got my Nookcolor. The first time was awful. I peeled the film completely off and when I tried to apply I could not make the protective film fit right nor could I get the bubbles out. I ended up throwing that one away and I forgot about the other one. A couple of weeks ago I was looking at some of the customer reviews and I came across the film again. I was surprised to see so many positive reviews for this product. I read some and they all said not to take the back completely off the protective film and to use a credit card to smooth out the bubbles. The credit card worked wonderful!!! I absolutely love this product. It was so easy to put on that I felt kinda dumb that I didn't think to do that the first time. For those who could not get the film on correctly I would try again with the credit card. I coundn't be more pleased. I would definetly recommend!!!

It, is harder to click things, and makes every thing less clear. Also it is hard to put on. I don't think it would protect it very much. Most screen damage is from bunt trama anyway.

It is pretty much impossible to put these on straight and without air bubbles. Tried over and over to apply correctly. By then it was ruined. Way too pricey for something that will end up thrown away.

I'm reading through all these bad reviews, and couldn't help but notice that all the one's that are rated poorly are simply because the person attempting to put it on wasn't capable. I'm guessing that this is the first time a lot of these people have tried put on a screen protector. Granted, it's not the absolute easiest thing in the world to do, but it's not that hard either. My recommendation would be if you are feeling trepidation, just have someone who's done it before put it on for you. There are plenty of people who will be able to do it in about 30 seconds and not leave any air bubbles. It obviously only has to be done once, and you will have a protected screen for the life of the device.

Im a firm believer in putting on the film protectors, but the black cloth included in this kit turned my fingers black AND left black smudges ALL around the border of my brand new NOOK Tablet. Use some other static free cloth then the one provided or becareful not to touch the gray border. Hopefully I can clean mine up a little.

Today I went to replace my Nookcolor clear screen film at Barnes and Noble. I had the salesperson replace it since he had more experience. The top film went on ok, not great, but just ok. When he took off the bottom film it was filled with the sticky residue that the screen is not supposed to leave behind. The guy reassured me that he could get it off with the special cleaner. An hour and two salespeople later I went home with a Nook with impared touchscreen visibility and a thin layer of sticky residue. I was sent home due to the lateness of the hour with instructions to try nail polish remover and contact the store if that doesn't work. I am not happy!

I have had nothing but problems with screen protector. I have tried numerous times to smooth it out but with no success. I just ended up pulling it off for now. I really don't like not having a protector on the screen.

Because some reviewers installed the film well without any trouble and other reviewers were not able to install it satisfactorily, I decided to go to Best Buy, where I purchased my Nook Color, and have the Geek Squad install it for $14.95. There are two films in the kit. The Geek Squad agent who served me got smudges on the first film he installed. Before he installed the second film, I told him that some reviewers removed the backing gradually as they installed the film from the top down, rather than removing the backing all at once. He installed the second film that way, and performed a clean installation. I have to look very closely along the edges of the screen to see that there is film in place. It has not reduced the touch sensitivity of the screen. And I have peace of mind, knowing the screen will be more resistant to scratching and cracking. I'm giving it a four star, rather than a five star, rating because 1) it is challenging to install and 2) I think it shows finger smudges more readily that the native glass surface, though smudges can be wiped off either surface.

I'm not sure why others are having problems with this screen cover. It went on easily with no bubbles. I put it on when my NOOKcolor was only a couple of days old, so I started with a clean, scratch-free screen. I didn't have any specks from the microfiber cloth, either. I've only had it a couple of weeks, but no peeling, bubbles or sensitivity issues so far.

Overpriced and impossible to apply without dust and/or air bubbles getting trapped underneath the film. After two tries, I ended up balling the whole mess up and throwing it in the trash. Wish I had my money back!

Adhesive's really sticky and while I cleaned the display (better than the microfiber cloth included could've done...) I couldn't keep from getting bubbles from little bits of lint and whatnot on the adhesive surface. Neither one of the two in the pack went on without impossible to remove bubbles- and I've managed to do this okay on my Droid and other devices in the past. Pure and simple, it's a nifty idea with somewhat poor execution- which is quite unlike the Nook Color that it was designed for. All I did here was waste my $20 that I spent on it. Would've been better spent on the ZAGG solution had it been made available at Best Buy and I'd have had a trained installer get it right from start to finish.
