The title says it all -- this is a musical version of the Authors card game series currently published by U.S. Games. Instead of being about the great scientists like Leonardo DaVinci, this is all about composers of classical music like Ludwig van Beethoven. I have some music students who really enjoy playing the game before their lessons start. You don't have to be able to read music to play the game, but it's more fun if you can sight-read the scores written across the top of each card. This is played like "Happy Families" or "Go Fish". A standard 52-card deck of casino-quality playing cards, "bridge size", is illustrated with portraits, four each, of 13 classical composers, such as Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frederick Handel. Players try to assemble the most sets of four, to win. This game "Composers" is printed in English, with the titles of some of the music, like "The Trout Quintet" also printed in German and other languages, plus music tempos that are in Italian. Short biographies of the composers are included, which can be read just for fun.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
