An excellent board game of frightening complexity!

My friends and I used to play this game, back in the 70's, in late all-night pot & acid fueled sessions. I recently found it again, got my friends to buy it for me for my birthday, and a couple of weeks ago played it for the first time in 30 years. This time, we were all completely sober. Amazingly, it is as exciting and engaging as it was all those years, and all those chemicals ago. I will say the games go faster when everybody's brains are working at peak efficiency, as there are many many aspects to keep in mind during gameplay, at least if you want to win! I highly recommend this to all gameplayers looking for a quirky, offbeat, and highly-engaging game. This game is definitely NOT recommended to those who are looking for an additional activity for while they are watching TV, chatting on Facebook, etc. It does require all of your mental resources!

    I Also Recommend:

Not as fun as it looks

This is a game for 3 to 5 players. Basically you need to concur planetary systems in the other players spheres of influence. On your turn the target player is chosen randomly, which can be frustrating. Attacks play out with cards and can include other players as allies. While this could have made the game more enjoyable and social, it only makes it end much faster and cause tension among the players.
One nice feature is the variety of races that can be played. But even here, the game can become very imbalanced.

Overall it was only kind-of fun, and no one who played really had any desire to play again.

If it were cheaper, it might have been worth the money.

If you want a good board game or card game to play with friends, see my recommended items.

My 23 year old son is extremely pleased with this purchase. It came a day or two later then I expected but the world did not come to an end because of it. B&N is very easy to order through and deal with
