My students with autism have fallen in love with the Elephant and Piggie books. The toys are such a great addition to their paired reading, while holding their assigned character they begin to act out the story, add facial expressions, etc. They've even begun searching the room for items to use as a "break and snap toy" or toy snakes to play catch with. We have had a blast with these items.

did I know that my daughter would become a lover of certain authors. Mo Willems characters, Gerald and Piggie have really gotten her attention. She gets every book she can from the library and requests to buy a new one every time we go to Barnes and Noble! I had to purchase the cute little plush pals when one day we happened to be walking through the store and a young female employee happened to have the first pair in their store. She went on to talk about them and how others would be arriving and then her and my daughter began to have an in depth conversation about their favorite Mo Willems book. Lorelai amazed me in how she carried out a conversation with this person, sharing their favorite parts of each book, what the funniest parts were and how at the end of the book there is always a pigeon hiding. Lorelai was so excited when she got these little guys and they are right there beside her in her bed reading with her.
My son is a huge Mo Willems fan and he loves the Elephant and Piggie series. This is a fun addition to any of the books. I bought these for my son and they are SUPER soft and plush. They feel like really soft suede. They're a decent size (easy to carry around) and come attached to each other!
Great gift!

I have 6 year old twins girls. I discovered very early on that the easiest way to keep them focused while trying to read to them is to use props. It has been a successful way to keep them still and involved in the story instead of competing for my attention. Moe Willems books are brilliant and I enjoy them as much as my girls do. My girls act out all the Elephant & Piggie books while I read them. Don't worry, if you're unfamiliar with the books they are not long but packed with humor and a lot for these characters/dolls to do. I've also had great success taking these props into their classrooms for group readings. They have held the students attention and kept them engaged. FANASTIC!!
