Illustory: Write and Illustrate Your Own Book!

My Daughter was so proud!

I purchased the illustory for my 7 year old daughter because I thought it was a great idea. When I ordered it, it was even better than I expected. My daughter loves to write stories and loves to draw. The IlluStory came with every thing; pages (and extra pages in case of mistakes) that have space for the picture with the written story underneath, markers for the artwork,and a postage paid envelope to return the manuscript. I did have to edit her story before we wrote it on the official pages because her story was too long for what is aloud. (I think it was about 22 words per page and limited to 12 or 14 pages). The author's picture can be included for a couple more dollars. It was very simple. The results were fabulous. The book was beautifully bound, the artwork was not changed in any way. And the text was professionaly printed (I could choose to have them correct spelling, or leave it as is.) My daughter was so excited when she received her finished book in the mail (it only took about 2-3wks). Now she is a real Author. She brought it to school and all her classmates and teachers were so impressed, especially because it showed her picture on the 'about the author' page. What a self esteem booster. I also purchases 2 extra copies for both sets of grandparents. My mom has been showing it off to everybody, she is so proud of her granddaughter. Barnes And Nobles has a great price, I paid $20 somewhere else. I'm going to buy this again because now my daughter is almost 9 and her stories and artwork is getting better. What a great way to see her creativity memorable forever.

8 year old loves it!

I bought one of these for my neice when she was 6. She loved it. Now she is 8 and is requesting another! The first one turned out beautifully and even includes a photo of the 'author' at the back of the book. Good binding, beautiful colour and overall a very high quality product.

Wonderful Product!

What an experience! Working on the story with my daughter was an incredible experience - seeing her think through her story and then actually put it to paper was a moment I will always cherish. We sent off the story and in about 3 weeks we received back her finished book. Seeing her look of accomplishment and pride was awesome - she has been reading her book to everyone that will listen - I can't wait to hear her story again tonight when I get home!

WONDERFUL KEEPSAKE, GREAT GIFT IDEA

I bought this for my 6 year old granddaughter to make for her mother. It was a lot of fun making it and her mother loved it. There were extra costs when it came time to mail the pages in for publishing. While the costs were optional, I felt they were necessary to make the finished product as expected. Personally, I thought the expense was worth it, but was disappointed to not know about the extra cost up front. However, the book turned out great, I'd buy it again and would definitely recommend it!

Their Very Own Book

Give the gift of creativity to a child you love. They'll have so much fun authoring their very own book and have a real feeling of pride when the finished product comes back. Step back and watch the smiling face!

WONDERFUL!

My 4 year old just completed this and we will be sending it in to be published. He is so excited and it gave him the freedom to do whatever he wanted. It pushed him to use his imagination to the fullest extent and I will be buying him one every year as long as he will let me. I hope to have a wonderful collection of published books soon enough. What a wonderful idea. AND they have a deal for classrooms to utilize this product as a group. How wonderful! I can't wait to see the end result and I will post an update then. The only downfall is that it sis pretty expensive. Read the instructions and be careful not to use to many pages as it costs extra to print over a certain amount. My son has completed 20 pages and it is getting pricey. STILL WONDERFUL!

Entertaining for children as well as adults!

I bought this item for a gift idea I had, and was happy to find that you can complete your book on paper or online! It was tons of fun and very entertaining. The navigation through the software is a bit slow, however it has plenty of options to customize your book in so many different ways!I am so excited to finally see the finished book, I can hardly wait. I believe it will make the perfect fathers day gift and the fact that his 7 year old was able to do hte story and illistrations on his own will be the best surprise in itself! Great project for anybody, would definately recommend this to anyone looking for that creative and unique adventure!

Perfect Gift for a Kid and they are excited about it

I bought this for my 7 year old niece as a gift and she loved it. She was immediately excited by it. She opened it as soon as she received it and began to create visual stories. I would definitely recommend.

Illustory is great

Great product if you want to promote creativity in your child. Lots of fun and you get to spend some quality time with your child. The online production is very helpful and easy to use (for the computer savvy). Highly recommended.

Fantastic way to get kids interested in reading!

I bought 2 of these kits for granddaughters for Christmas; ages 6 and 7. The 7 year-old has already completed hers and it has been made and received. We could not be happier with it! It is a beautiful book, with faithfully reproduced pictures, a nice cover and good pages. We opted for the clear plastic dust jacket to protect her book.

She wrote about her Dad, and can't wait to read it to him, and to take it to school to read it there. For the pictures, she drew with the provided markers, then we scanned them to put on finishing details with PhotoShop. She was very happy with the results.

My son's third book.

My son has already written two of these books, and wanted another for Christmas. So Santa brought it, and he's thinking about what to write. He loved writing the first two, and every day when I checked the mail, he was asking whether it came. The quality is great, and my son is very proud of his books, and insists on reading them to us every so often. Very much recommended for all ages!

great for grandparent gifts

Don't we wish this had been around when we were little? The kids are so proud of their creations. We bought copies of the finished book for the grandparents and they loved it. We showed the book off at school and even classmates wanted to buy a copy. I'm sure the kids will cherish their books when they are older.
