The 7 year old loves it...might need a book, though!

We took this with us camping, and my son loved it. We pretty much scrapped the rules and just worked on knots together using the cards, and when we got home, he remembered what certain ones were used for and was trying them out.

It might help to have a book that shows the steps to making knots, especially for newcomers. A little instruction guide with the game would have been sooo helpful, because there's no way to really check to see if you are right when you try a knot. That isn't a problem for some of the basic ones, but it would be a boon for some of the more complicated ones.

The cards feature brief fun facts about the knot being attempted, and my son quickly memorized them as we went along, so there is some good learning to be had by all, and I can see this as being a fun competitive game for some older kids.

Would make a good gift too. Kinesthetic learning is often lacking in our kids' lives, so this is a great opportunity to fill that void.

    Very happy with this purchase.
