I got this for my 2 year old grandson and I got a long-distance call the day he got it and he told me he loved the puzzle and loved me too. His dad is getting his cousin this puzzle for his two-year birthday.

I was shopping with a friend one day at our local Barnes & Noble. She pointed out this puzzle, saying that they used to have one at the local library and it was popular with all the kids (everyone loved it!). I wanted my daughter to work on her fine motor skills, so decided to spend the money and purchase it. From the time I brought it home, it has been one of her favorite puzzles. She sits and works at doing all the latches and hooks, and has a great time. It's also been a great tool for me to work with her on learning her colors and numbers. I would definitely recommend this product to any parent. I think you will find it is a great learning/educational toy, but also one that is fun for your child.

I bought this for my 3 year old son. He can easily play with it for 20 minutes at a time. The #2 latch is too difficult for him to unlatch on his own, but he is able to unlatch all other locks. We brought this item to the park and several boys between 5 and 8 played with it for a long time. My 1 year old also likes playing with it. I think it is a little pricey, but we bought it on sale and it is well worth the price we paid!

My 2 year old loves this "puzzle" and it is highly educational. It teaches colors, numbers and works on his fine motor skills. Doors 1 and 2 are a little challenging, but he loves to see what's inside each door. I can't wait to buy this for all the other toddlers I know.

My 2 1/2 year old loves this toy. I recommend it to be a used with an adult so they can learn by imitation and not get frustrated. Very educational.

Melissa & Doug have created a great puzzle for toddlers and preschoolers. This puzzle features colors, numbers and small motor skill exercises. Best part - there are no pieces to lose!!!

Searched for this type of toy a dozen years ago for my granddaughter who has suffered a brain injury in an auto accident to help her develop fine motor skills as well as teach colors, etc.......nothing on the market or in specialty stores, etc. I am delighted to see this! It is well made and meets so many needs for developing your minds and skills! Hurrah for Melissa & Doug!

The item is heavy, but seems to be well made. It is a Christmas gift, so haven't opened it to play yet

I would not recommend this particular item because it has very sharp ridges. It is also hard for little ones to open. My twins hurt their hand trying to open the sharp latches. Not recommended. I gave it one star for being harmlessly cute, deceptive though.

I bought this for my 18 month and 2 1/2 year old grandchildren and they love this! At first my son was concerned that it would teach them to open any type of door and he was a bit hesitant, but really it simply amuses them for hours. The sounds of the latches clacking, the peek-a-boo feature behind each door and the bright colors as well as the challenge it offers them while trying to figure out each lock makes for hours of fun for the kids. It's always one of the first toys they pull out when they come to my house for a visit. It's also sturdy and well manufactured and I would definitely recommend it.

I bought this for my 18 mo old and he likes it very well. He loves to figure out how things work, so this is right in line. I like that all of the parts are contained on the board so there aren't any lost pieces. When I showed him the game at B&N, he actually sat on the floor and began playing with it. It was wonderful. He likes to play with it in his car seat while we drive.

We got this board for my 1 year old but my 4 & 7 year old also play with this. They love doing it together and even come up with story lines (they love anything that involves pretend.) My only complaint is that the animals underneath the doors don't make sense. There's a horse (which i think SHOULD be in the barn but is in a house) and then there are dogs, cats, rabbits, frogs & fish. I remember my oldest daughter playing with a similar board when she was little and the animals were behind doors of their habitats. It made more sense and was a better learning tool, if you ask me.

I bought this for my daughter around the age of 2 1/2, and she loves the challenge of doing all of the locks and latches. Of course, this may not be such a good thing if you do not want your child to know how to unlock, latch your front door! :)

I felt this was a bit pricey for what it was, but my son picked it out as a reward gift. I also felt that the latch on the orange doors should have come with a small padlock or something similar. We used a luggage lock. It worked just fine.
