As a 71-yr-old game enthusiast, I'm always looking for a new, exciting & entertaining game for our group. Liebrary is it! Our family game nights usually include siblings, nieces & nephews, children & grandchildren, ranging in age from 14 to 71 years, with the majority being in the 30 to 50-year group. The premise is to write the most plausible "first line" of a given book. The card reader states the title, author, & a synopses. Each person then writes a convincing first line for that book. After all are read, you vote for the one you think sounds like the "real" one. Our group usually has some VERY creative and hilarious first lines that often get votes for artistic merit alone! Some of the more memorable lines creep into our daily conversations & become family classics. We laugh a lot!
The game comes with six game pieces, but we just add tokens, coins, bottle caps, dice, etc., that we need for our number of players ( often about 12). Works just fine! We hardly ever remember who won - just how much fun we had!
This is a great party game that I highly recommend for adults, college students, and families. And oh, yes - it can also be educational.
I am librarian and therefore my mother assumed this would be the perfect Christmas gift for me. Basically this is a book version of the game Balderdash. It just didn't appeal to me, it didn't look fun, so i returned it without even opening the box. I'm sure someone else would love this game but to me it wasn't worth the money and I'd rather use the store credit to buy books.

Overview
To make up the most believable first line of a book that will convince other players that yours is the correct one. Each player votes for the first line of the book he or she believes is the actual frist line. Players can earn points by either writing a first line good enough to fool the other players into voting for it (whether it’s real or not) or by guessing the correct first line after all entries are read.Scoring Chart:
For every point given, all players move their Liebrary Book Pawn forward the correct amount...
