Meta-Forms is my favorite gift to give friends!

I have seen 5-year-olds and adults get equally excited and addicted to Meta-Forms. It is a game that sucks you right in and does not let go! When I first found it (and the other games by FoxMind) I lost my winter break to it and wished I had more time! The goal is simple - to place 9 pieces (red, blue, and yellow circles, squares, and triangles) into a 3x3 grid. You are given 9 clues to guide you. The clues are totally visual and start off very simple. As you get sucked into the game, the difficulty of the clues begins to gradually increase as does the time that each puzzle takes to solve ... before you know it you are working with formal logic and loving it. The thing that has amazed me most about MetaForms is that kids absolutely love it. And if you get a couple of kids to play it together (or a kid and adult), the logical language that flies is astounding! This game has been my staple Christmas present for all my friends with kids ever since I discovered it!

A smart gift for smart kids

On the recommendaton of friend who is also an elementary school teacher, I bought Meta-Forms as a birthday gift for my puzzle and science loving nephew. I would wholeheartedly recommend this game for school age children who love puzzles and mental games. Meta-Forms would also be a great tool for parents who want to help their kids develop stronger skills in math and logic.

An excellent game of logic

My best friend has a daughter who is a gifted child. Her problem is to find activities that are challenging enough to keep her interested. She tends to get bored when things are too simple and many things are too simple for her… I offered her the games Jungle Smart and Meta-Forms and was very pleased to see that she enjoyed both of them. Meta-Forms is a multi-level game of logic where you must place 9 pieces into a 3x3 grid by following the visual clues given to you. She really enjoyed solving the logic puzzles, especially the most advanced ones. I highly recommend this game to the parents who care about their child’s cognitive development.

An amazing game of logic for children and adults

This game was quite a find. It was recommended to me by a friend of mine who is an educator for gifted children. The game seems amazingly simple. Simple enough for a 3 or 4 years old to start playing on their own. The player has to place 9 geometric tokens on a 3x3 board by following the clues that are provided in a book. It starts easy and gradually builds up in complexity. I thought my son, who is 5, will quickly loose interest, but he kept on going and going. By the time he hit a snug and came to see me for help I was quite surprised at the level he has reached. We continued solving puzzles together and I realized mid way through the game that it posed a challenge for me too. My son was often quicker at recognizing the logical path to the solution than I was. The beauty of the game is that it uses simple visual clues and all you have to do is place 9 tokens on a board using ones logic. Yet in the advanced levels the reasoning required gets quite sophisticated. When we finished the game my son asked me if we can get more of these puzzles. "I don't know". I passed on the game to my sister who loves logic puzzles and has a 6 year old daughter. She had initially the same reaction, commenting that it looked like babies' stuff, but found herself captivated once she and her daughter passed the beginners levels of the game. A great educational puzzle.

A real GEM of a game!

I bought this game for my 6 year old son.
This solitary game (that can also be played as a joined activity), progresses very smoothly, but quite quickly arrives to levels of logical thinking that I thought were beyond a child's ability.
I was surprised how quickly my son grasped the underlying logic rules and must admit that in several cases was quick to point out mistakes I had made in the process of solving some puzzles.
The more advanced puzzles are rather challenging, but we really enjoyed solving them. I highly recommend this game for anyone looking for an educational game that is fun and challenging.

Amazing gift for Christmas!

I recently purchased this game on the advice of a friend and I have not been disappointed! It starts off very simple, and my children were easily able to complete the first puzzles, but as the game advances, so does the challenge. At the higher levels, even an adult will have to think and reason things out.

I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great gift for anyone who likes to think!

challenging, but not discouraging

Working from the beginning of the puzzle book, at first the puzzles seemed too easy. They do get harder, and by working from the beginning you'll learn best how to interpret the clues. Good logic and thinking skills activity for adults and children.

A super game!

Enjoyable for most(?) adults and great for kids -- my grandkids (ages 3 - 9) are keeping track of their progress and enjoy "competing" to see who can reach the highest level; it's a nice diversion from Wii, etc., too, and allows some good one-to-one time for me with each of them.

Great game

I really like deduction games and this one is really great! I feel like I'm becoming smarter after each level. I did all the puzzles myself and I can't wait to show this game to kids and friends!
Although definitively not for young children. 6 and up is a good rating. Logical thinking is needed. At 6, it is a very educational game. At 31, it is still fun and challenging!

Great family fun too

Our family discovered a new way to enjoy this game - by playing it together! Our daughter is ADHD we often use games to help teach concepts, so we frequently play games together. We're always on the lookout for games that challenge her and are fun for us too. This one scores at the top for both!

Metaforms is simple to learn how to play, and the puzzles 'teach' you logic concepts at a gradual pace, so that you have the satisfaction of solving the puzzle and figuring out a new clue each step along the way. Our whole family joins in and we take turns placing pieces and helping each other figure out the clues. This has been terrific for our daughter as she both sees us use the clues and can explain her own logic to us. As there are no complex directions to read, the game was an instant hit and we were quickly off and playing together. And of course we each can play on our own as well.

Not a Favorite

We're very interested in finding fun, logic development games/puzzles for our little one, so it looked like this game was going to be great fun. Unfortunately, not so. We'll need to hold on to this game until our 3 year old is older. Meta-forms didn't hold her interest. Haven't given up on it, just a little too much for our toddler.

Educational

My grandson just turned four and was able to easily pick up the easy level. He thinks it is a fun game.
