    Great fun

This game was a hoot! We played it at a party and some of the stories that the guests made up were even funnier than the real story. There are lots of expressions--way more than you would use in one evening.

    Fast and Fun

We played this game at a family gathering. After some squabbling about it being too difficult...everyone got the hang of it and we played for several hours. You have 90 seconds to write a convincing description of the origin of an expression like: "in the doldrums". You learn quickly to insert dates and word roots to fool your opponents. The challenge is the time limit. Some of the descriptions were so ridiculous, because you are forced to complete your origin quickly. You score points by both guessing the correct origin, and fooling the other players. Lots of fun!

    Fun party and family game

Origin is great for any gathering. The game doesn't require existing knowledge, so players can utilize their creativity in coming up with the origin of a word. My family, which included kids, parents, and grandparents, had a blast playing this on a recent holiday.
