    I thought they were making it less complicated

    Risk Reinvention, while still a fun way to spend the evening, is not as easy to learn or play as the original. Nor is it as fun. Part of what I personally enjoyed about the original gameplay is the element of surprise; you don't have any idea what missions your opponents are trying to complete, and therefore you must rely more on strategy to win the game. With Risk Reinvention, all of the missions are laid face-up on the game board, and as you complete one, you grab it. The first to complete 3 missions and retain control of his or her capital is the winner.

    Additionally, they changed they playing pieces in this version. Instead of military men there are flat arrows, which are not only very difficult to pick up and move around, but they take up a lot of space on the game board.

    Would I play Risk Reinvention again? Of course. If I had to choose between this version or the original, however, I would stick with the classic.
