    Challenging Entertainment

    Shape by Shape is a play on Tao of Tangram (or just tangram). The box suggests it is for ages 8 and up but it is challenging for ages far beyond that. The puzzles do offer a large degree of difficulty on par with any Tangram puzzle. The instructions provide different ways to play such as head-to-head challenges and timed puzzles. While working a puzzle with my child, we frequently flipped the card over to check our progress or give us a hint. The next puzzle we tried to do it with fewer hints. The idea I kept in mind was to complete the puzzle but also not discourage the child b/c of the challenge the puzzle offered. Some of the puzzles are easier than others but difficulty level is not denoted on the cards. Playing of this game requires as much patience as it does a creative level of thinking.

    Our 8 year old granddaughter found it as something she picks up when she is here.

    This is a very strudy made game. Lots of help on the cards if they need it. Something that is a play by herself, thank goodness !!

    GREAT toy but for the ADVANCED child.

    This is a wonderful and educational child but it is VERY HARD and challenging. That's why I got it and that's why I recommend it. But know your child. He/she could get discouraged as it is NOT easy.
