The rudest, most unprofessional people I have dealt with in 50 years of consumer life, bar none. I had to get a lawyer. They responded by blacklisting me forever, so I have no idea what it's like anymore.
That anonymous review is par for their course. Lie, lie, lie...and then lie some more. Kochava tells it like it is.

"Unlimited" means 25 minutes a week on Dome 2, 50 minutes a week on dome 1. Teide. No reservations for Chile or Australia. That's the kind of .com fraud you can expect from them. But don't ask. They'll cancel your subscription, no refund, no response. Definitely not something for the kids to have to deal with!
The dome two camera has been faulty since July, 2007, so it often doesn't develop right- like 75% of the time or more. Monthly memberships don't get to access the only (sometimes) working telescope in Dome 1. They're finally getting Chile to be OK, after promising since December, 2007. Still sits in the Santiago sky-glow. No reservations enabled on Chile or Australia, despite being promised since June of 2008. When you look at SLOOH images, make sure you notice if it was before or after March, 2009. That's when they rolled out "V3", to cut the founder out of his copyright, and it has never worked correctly. Images of globular clusters are useless; the center is completely over-exposed. V2 had no such problems. V3 is never focused well, either. Their talking head, Bob Berman, has even worked that into his spiel, that "detail isn't as important when imaging nebulae". OK. So you don't bother to fix the focus?
The personnel running it are extremely rude, holier than thou, spoiled little boys of the extreme right wing. You can not underestimate the group think and the contempt with which they hold anyone that thinks differently from them.
If you get lucky and something is working, and you only need to get one shot, and you don't accidentally mention a blacklisted member, it's a great value for $5.95 a month. It's DEFINITELY not something kids should experience as a "first 'scope". No matter how you take it, expect to waste a lot of time without getting any coherent answers.

Not sure why someone would go out of their way to post such a negative review of Slooh - we love it - works great. You can control telescopes in Canary Islands - great for our time zone. Also, take shots and share. There is some cool features like being tied into Google Earth, zoom control, and making reservations. Highly recommend for someone interested in exploring space.

What a great find and a great buy! I got this as a gift and the whole family is thrilled! For a lot less than what it costs to buy a telescope, you get a year's worth of exploring the universe right on your own computer and in REAL TIME live from telescopes around the world. (This is not software.) We don't have to wait until it gets dark to see super cool colorful celestial wonders, and we don't have to worry about weather or city light conditions. The remote Slooh telescopes are located in the best observatory locations for the best conditions. And you can connect with other space enthusiasts on their forums & chat rooms. And we're learning a lot about what we're looking at by listening to the live nightly Sky Radio broadcasts. While we love looking up outside on a dark starry night, Slooh gives us so many more opportunities to see the universe live and upclose! We highly recommend this product for anyone interested in astronomy!
