This is a very well made train! We've had it for 2 years now, and it still looks good as new. My son enjoys playing with the blocks, and driving the train around. I'd recommend any Melissa & Doug toys... we have several, and they're all very nice!

This is a very nice train! It is bright and clean looking, and it looks like it will last for generations. I'm sure it will become an heirloom. I'm proud to give this to my new nephew Wyatt!

It doesn't make loud annoying sounds or have flashing lights. Proof that a toy doesn't need to have high tech bling to be loved by kids (or parents)!

My 2 1/2 year old grandson loves Thomas and anything having to do with trains. I like Thomas toys because they are solid wood. This train is as well. It reminds me of the toys I grew up with before they all became plastic. The wheels run very smoothly. Great toy! My grandson is a little young to figure out how all the pieces fit together, so I think he will play with this toy in stages. Right now, it is a train that he pulls around. Later, he will learn to put it together like a puzzle.

Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged. We purchased this train last year at Christmas for our son who was 8 months at the time. He loved the spinning wheels. He was a little young to fully understand how the block go on and how you can push/pull it, but as he grew, he kept at it. Now at just a little over 1.5, he pulls the "choo-choo" all over. We have several Melissa and Doug toys. There is something magical about woodend toy that allows your imagination to sour. The simplicity of them doesn't overwhelm the child and there is so much you can do with them...colors, shapes, etc. I hesitate getting anything that requires a battery...as a Mom, I feel it my responsibility to take the place of a talking, battery operated device. The wooded toys promote dexterity, communication and imagination.

I purchased this for my grandchildren to play with when they came for a visit. the stacking train toy was categorized for the appropriate age; however, I noticed that older kids were having fun putting it together first so that the younger ones could copy it. they could not put it together the same way. They were still able to play with it for a few minutes and others up to a half hour. Blocks are colorful and the resulting train, however built, moves well along the floor. the younger kids had some difficulty putting the blocks on so that they did not fall off right away. they lack the ability to be precise. I did not see anyone throw the pieces but I know that kids can throw blocks and they could hurt someone with it.

I bought this toy for my 11 month old grandson. He's really enjoying taking it apart. It's more fun than blocks. I like this toy because as he gets older he will still be interested in playing with it and able to do more things with it.

This toy is a great learning activity for young children. I found it on sale and it was well worth the money. I bought one for a present and another to keep on hand for when my grandson comes to visit.

Well made, colorful and sturdy. Our little guy hasn't been here to play with it yet, but I'm sure he'll find it fun--even if only as missiles.

This train is well made, nicely crafted, and large enough pieces for young toddlers. There was attention to detail in all of the peices. I would definately buy this as a gift again. It is well worth the money.

The 5 year old plays with it a little but it is a real joy for the 3 and 1 year-olds who play with it constantly. It will last and be enjoyed for many years.

My 11-month baby loves it. She loves to put the blocks on the train and take them off. It's a very good toy for her Eye-hand coordination.
