Teach Me Time is an adorable, talking bedside alarm clock, time-teaching tool, and nightlight all in one.  This interactive product grows with your child and may help ease you into your morning as well!  Teach Me Time! glows a soft yellow as your little ones fall asleep and then turns green in the morning (at a time you specify) when it’s "OK to Wake!"

Kids take pride in waiting for the green light before they come visit you in the bedroom with the knowledge of a job well-done.  Three LCD display modes (analog clock, digital clock or both) allow parents to select the display type best suited for their child.  An interactive, talking time-teaching game is designed to be played with your child in the evening before bed or any time at all.

2 AAA batteries are not included.

    Wonderful clock!!

I love this. Not only does it teach time, but it keeps my 3-year old in his room until the green light comes on. He now comes running into our room saying, "the green light is on, the green light is on."

    Very educational and adorable!

Our daughter already knew about the "Teach me time" since the discussion of purchase and order from "BN.com". The idea to have a talking alarm clock really liked the five-year-old girl. She remembered and asked about it all 1.5 months of delivery (St. Petersburg). Now, this is a subject of adoration, which exceeded all expectations. We saw that using a game function, much easier to teach 5-year-old Russian child correct answer to the question: "What time is it?" As expected, the child is more organized and quickly gets up and going to kindergarten. It is an excellent purchase!

    Highly Recommended

We now have 1 for our 4 year old and 1 for the 2 1/2 year old. You set the green light to last as long as you want (unlike a prior reviewer stated), so for ours it's set from 6am-8am, so if she wakes up during that time, she knows it's ok to get up. It has helped her know that waking up before 6am is not ok! She knows that when it turns green, it's alright to get out of bed. We love it, which is why we have one for each child, and we'll be getting it as gifts for our little cousins as well.

    Disappointed - returning it. :(

My just-turned 3-yr-old son has had a Good Nite Lite for several months (got it used). I loved most features about it, but it plugs into the outlet, and baby brother kept taking it out. It got old and no longer works, so I searched for something similar and was very pleased that this one had a cord (can put it up on a bookshelf away from baby) and so many neat features. However, the very feature I needed it for was a great disappointment (letting them know when they can get up). The green light telling them they can get up only stays on for a minute! (The Good Nite Lite sun stays on for about an hour, I believe.) It's totally pointless unless he just happens to be looking at it right when it turns on. Sometimes he sleeps in a few more minutes and needs to know when he wakes up that he can get up. Well, by then the green light is gone. Will be returning it.

Makes no sense and has no nap timer.

The color of the face stays yellow and cannot be changed, making the "color changing" option useless (it's impossible to explain to a 2 1/2 year old that "Part of the clock stays yellow, but when the OTHER part of the clock is green, THEN it is time to get up!"). There is also no nap timer so if you have a child that still takes a nap you have to re-set the alarm twice a day. This product is not AT ALL what I had expected and I will be returning it.

    more from this reviewer

    This is a great idea!

This clock is just what we needed for our 4-year old who kept waking up at 6:00 AM rearing to go. We set the clock to turn green at 7:15 and our son now waits for his clock to change until he gets up (and gets us up) in the morning. The button on the left allows your child to hear the time as well as see it two different ways. This can get a bit irksome if your child hits the button 9 times in a single minute (as mine did last night), but I consider it a small price to pay for the extra sleep we are getting in the morning!

My 21 month old has been waking up at the crack of dawn for a lo

My 21 month old has been waking up at the crack of dawn for a long time, but it wasn't until he started climbing out his crib and we made the toddler bed transition that it really became a problem.  We had gotten used to running on little sleep, but after he moved to the toddler bed, he started waking in the middle of the night in addition to being up by 5am.  Then 5am moved to 4:30am, and so on.  Now that fall is here, the darker mornings make it even more confusing for him to understand night time versus morning.

This clock is magic. He understood the concept immediately since we yell "Green means go!" at traffic lights when they change color.  He was mad about it at first, waking and crying at his door, jiggling his doorknob.  Heartbreaking.  We started by taking shifts going in and showing him that we didn't forget about him but the light was yellow, which means he stays in his big boy bed.  We wouldn't go back in after that, and he eventually would climb back in and fall asleep. It was tough at first, but he slowly started to eliminate the multiple middle-of-the-night wakings, and eventually just woke up at 4:45am.  We repeated the process, not breaking our 5am green light wake up-call even if it meant that he cried for the last 15 minutes at his door.

At one point I heard him wake and watched his monitor as he started to get out of bed, looked at the clock, and then turned around to get back in bed because it was still yellow!!  This morning he slept until 6:45am, and I didn't even know he was awake until I heard him calmly saying, "Geeeeen, mama!" from his bed.  I can't remember the last time my alarm clock woke me before my son woke me.  It's a wonderful product.

    Great clock!

Very happy with this purchase. Bought this for my 4 year old. He loves how he can press the button and it will tell him the time. Light turning green to tell him he can get up is great. It is bright regularly, but my son likes having a night light so it is not a problem for me as some have mentioned in other reviews. Overall, great purchase and would highly recommend.

    Great clock

My 5 year-old loves this clock. We had a previous clock that had a bunny picture that showed bunny sleeping and awake. He broke that quickly (wanted to play with it). So far this clock has held up. I like that it shows the two ways to tell time. My 3 year-old like pressing the button to hear the time also. Only negative is the buttons for programming are hard to read.

    fun alarm clock

Our son loved the first one so much that when it broke we had to buy another. They are not very sturdy and it is not as nice as the other one from same manufacturer, because it has a cord that must be plugged in in order to see the time, but as the kids like to sleep with it it is a little dangerous.
Their other clock "ok to wake up" runs by batteries and thus doesn't pose a strangulation issue.
mostly annoyed by BN customer service. They fail to ship on time and although it states it is kids club eligible we don't receive any credits.
Anyway, that goes for the other 300+ kids books and toys we have bought in BN, and which is not credited to us. We have not received one single award, in spite of weekly kids book purchases in store, a few orders online and 2 alarm clocks! They say our accounts are linked properly but it doesn't seem to work!

    Excellent first alarm clock!

My daughter is 4-1/2 right now, and she LOVES this alarm clock. She already knows how to read the clock hands for every hour, but this clock is helpful in that it can teach her *minutes*. She is getting to the age where she can begin to wake herself up and start getting ready for the day without an adult (as in, getting dressed, brushing teeth, etc.).

She was so proud this morning when she woke up with her alarm clock for the first time :) It's a big milestone for kids when they can wake up on time and get ready for another big day!

Good light, could use some adjustments

I bought this clock for my daughter's third birthday. Great clock. I do wish it had options for volume. Also the face light is a bit bright for my liking, and cannot be adjusted. For that reason, I have decided to use the clock in another room rather than her bedroom.
