    This game has been a hit each time we've played. My nephews are 10 and 12 and get really into the game, but so do other adults we've played with. You never know who will win (something I don't usually like in a game, but it's fun here). Great game!

    Fabulous family fun

    What a great game to play with all age groups. My kids (ages 8 & 9) were able to develop winning strategies from the start. It's one of those rare strategy games in which parents do not have to "dumb down" their play in order to not overwhelm the kids. In my family, grandparents, aunts, parents, kids,...we all play it.

    Great family game for all ages; fun way to learn geography

    We own 7 editions of the Ticket to Ride games and they never get old because of numerous possible combinations of routes and destinations. All feature beautiful artwork and come with high quality game components. This original Ticket to Ride game features a map of the lower 48 states, including a few stops in Canada. As with all Ticket to Ride board games, it forces players to strategize and accommodate for unexpected turns of events. The concept and play is simple enough for children to learn in 5 minutes, yet exciting enough to keep players of any age at the edge of their seats. This and other games are a great and fun way to get kids away from the computer or TV and spend enjoy some family time. Be forewarned: Tensions may arise from players taking segments of each others' planned routes! Other Ticket to Ride board games I highly recommend: * Ticket to Ride Europe: features a map of Europe from spanning from Scotland to Spain to Russia and Turkey. * Ticket to Ride Germany (Marklin Edition): features a map of Germany including stops in bordering countries. Especially fun for students of German. * Ticket to Ride Nordic Edition: features Scandinavian countries and cities. More suspenseful than other editions due to longer routes. * Ticket to Ride Swiss Map Expansion: My favorite map, but requires the ownership of one of the other games (America, Europe, Germany or Nordic Countries) to play as it only comes with the map (board) and destination tickets. You will need the trains and train cards from one of the other games. * Ticket to Ride 1910 Expansion for the American map: adds larger train cards (easier to hold) and many new destination tickets to expand the number of possible routes. * Ticket to Ride 1914 Expansion for the European map: new destination tickets to keep expand the number of possible routes.

    Great game for entire family

    This game is a family favorite. It is non-confrontational, though competitive. Players work to build a continuous railway across America. The game is well constructed and is meant to last a lifetime. My mother who is in her 60s enjoys it as much as my 10 year old. There is luck involved in play, however, strategy is much more important. The game dynamic changes significantly with different numbers of players. Playing with fewer players seems to compliment one strategy, while playing with more players requires a different strategy. It is almost like having two games in one box. (One odd thing, however, is that Chicago is depicted on the map as being in Indiana, rather than Illinois.) All in all, a beautifully made game that is fun, and doesn't lead to hurt feelings on the part of the loser.

    Family Favorite!

    Our family loves this game, and everyone can play it! As a foreign exchange student, my daughter took it as a gift for her host family as it teaches American geography passively and is typical of what her American family does together for fun! It makes a great gift for a family!

    love this game!

    This is a fantastic game. So ingenious. We played it so many times over the holidays and each time it was more addicting. Definitely a keeper for the family game collection!
