My son is getting this for Christmas. He was the Very Hungry Caterpillar in a Kindergarten play last month and he wanted this very badly. It is perfect! Very soft and just the right size...not too big, but not small :)

My son saw this guy in the store before his birthday. I had told him I would get him one as part of his gifts. When I went back to get it, I was shocked by the price on it~ still I knew how much he had loved it & he doesn't usually ask for stuffed things.
As I held it & examined it, I feel in love too. It is so super soft & made very well.
It was the last gift he opened & as a 5 year old, he got some pretty great things from his friends. When he opened this gift he hugged it & then hugged his dad & me & was overjoyed. You can't put a price on that. He sleeps w/ it every night.

We have the book, and some toys (rattle and stuffed catepillar) from when he was a baby... these will be kept for him to give to his own kids someday or he can keep it for himself.

I bought this as well as the book and fabric to make a quilt to give to one of my grandson's for his birthday or X'mas later this year. It is very cute.

He fell in love with it, even though it's hard for me to see how someone can get attached to a caterpillar! But my son plays with it a lot, sleeps with it, and even talks for it - turns out, caterpillars talk in very fine, high pitched voice!(btw, my son is 4). It's a great toy, good quality and fun colors, although I do think it's a little too expensive.

This is a large plush version of the caterpillar from Eric Carle's famous book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. It is made of a polyester fiber and is machine washable.A Message from Eric Carle: "The Very Hungry Caterpillar is about hope.
