The Best Way to Choose Children's Books!

Are you a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle or friend who selects books for the children you love and want to see grow up with only the best influences? Going to the Kids' Department of any bookstore or library can be daunting! Take this "Guide" and you're all set!

In her book "100 Best Books for Children," Anita Silvey, a children's books EXPERT gives you the list of books that she would take to a desert island if she were shipwrecked with some kids for twelve years. She writes a short (1 page) synopsis of each book. Ms. Silvey, with 35 years of experience in the children's books industry, honed a list that you can take confidently with you to the bookstore or library. You will be sure to select a fine book for your beloved children, one that will transport them to exciting places, introduce to them to characters who will teach them about the losses, joys, pains and richness of life.

Silvey organizes the list according to ages and reading levels, from "Goodnight Moon" to "Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl." The BONUS: a list at the end of another 500-600 Highly Recommended books. I bought 10 of these books for new parents and grandparents in our family--they love it!
