This Book Is Adequate.
I was assigned to read "100 Heartbeats" for my AP Environmental Science class. Being a student in high school, you could probably guess that I wasn't exactly...elated to find this out. Obviously I did not have a choice but to read it, but to my surprise, I actually kind of enjoyed the book! I believe the Jeff Corwin did a good job of portraying the many problems that we face in the environment today. Many of his stories about meeting animals on the brink of extinction and traveling around the world were very fascinating to me. I did find quite a bit of the writing about the animals in danger a little too uniform. It is not that the EXACT same thing was written about all of the animals, but it seems as if some of the chapters were lacking some of the interesting facts that could have potentially drawn the readers in. Some of the chapters seemed to have the same basic outlined evidence instead of giving facts that could have made the reader want to hop on a plane and go rescue the endangered animal themselves. In spite of that, I think that overall, this book was pretty good!

Everyone should read.
First I will start out by saying that I was never a huge fan of Jeff Corwin's TV show. But this book is very informative and allows the everyday person to see just how much our actions are affecting animals around the world.
