Overview

Here are over 100 true case studies from around the world that needed solutions. These cases are taken from the vast world of industry and commercial enterprise. A few are from unusual occurrences in the home and university setting, including some jokes and tricks that baffled many. But the focus is on industry where there can be dire consequences if a factory shuts down a line. The engine that powers the world is industry and it must keep running smoothly or the civilized world grinds to a stop. Our heroes are mostly unsung since they are the engineers, technicians and ordinary workers who jump in when things go amiss as they so often do. I hope you will enjoy these case histories. You need not be an engineer or scientist to understand the problem and to appreciate the solution. There is also a Problem Solving Guide at the end that should be useful to everyone.
