This is the final volume of this series, and I must say I am sad about that. Over the time that this series has been written I really have fallen in love with the books, and the people who live in them. I guess that means it is time to brush off the earlier books and re-read them.

This book is centered around the Christmas Tree farm, on none other than Christmas Tree Lane. Beth Morehouse is a new owner, who relocated from California after she grew apart from her husband and they divorced. She needed a change of scenery, and the Christmas Tree farm gave her just that. She also seems to be a magnet for orphaned puppies, and through out the book is finding home for these darlings with the other residents of Cedar Cove. Beth's daughters are also up to some shenanigans and are trying to get their parents back together, not what I would expect from college age girls. But I think that they realize before their parents did that they really do belong together. But as usual life is complicated, and both Beth and seemingly her ex-husband Kent have other people who are interested in them. So they need to re-evaluate their feelings and see what is really best for them. The paths that they take is very realistic, and something that anyone who has gone through a divorce, and still has a smidgeon of feelings for their ex can relate to. Since this is the last book of the series, there are many other side stories that tie up any loose ends that were left behind in previous stories.

This really is a good book, though I do think that you would appreciate it more if you have read some of the previous book first. Though it can stand on its own just fine, I think having some more back story just makes it even better. I will miss the Cedar Cove books, but I will also eagerly await any new books and/or series that Debbie Macomber will come out with.

I would like to thank Harlequin for a copy of the book, and for the opportunity to read such a great book. Thank you

    Shadow

"Ginger!" I squeak, still startled by the big cat's appearance. I look between my familiar sister and this strange half breed, and l feel a thrill of terror as l see eyes glinting behind her. An ambush! I decided to follow Ginger, racing through the trees to a 'cove'.

    Cute Christmas story.....

This book is part of a series of othet books about these people in Cedar Cove. I really needed to read the books prior to this one and in order to understand all of the characters and follow along gracefully.

    Finpaw

Finpaw remains silent. Nothing to say. He just knows that now, he hates Twolegs. (•|•)

    Nice but....

Keep in mind that I've only read one other of the Cedar Cove series and I believe that had I read all of them, I would have been less confused. Ms. Macomber helpfully provides an index of characters at the beginning of the book which is a good thing because there were so many characters, I had to keep referring back to it. She also helpfully added little tidbits about each character referring to their own stories which helped me figure out what was going on, but that was more than half of her book. If her point was to wrap up the series by including everyone, then she achieved it. Her main story, what there was of it, could have been left as a novella since she really didn't delve into it or her characters very deeply. Also, the first 2/3 of the book kept referring to a birthday party that never materialized in the story as if it was just forgotten about. It seemed like it was only repeatedly referred to so that those characters could be included but without any actual dialogue. Ironically, it was those characters' story (Cedar Cove Christmas) that I actually read and would have liked to see have a part in the book.

All in all, it's a nice afternoon read, but too convoluted to really get into it.

    Last in the Series.

I loved the whole series. I was very sad to see it end. I did hope that more of the stories would tie together better. I know that Debbie tried to make some closure, but I think some of it was too scarce. There was more to be said about each family than just a little passing paragraph. The book should have been a little longer to cover all of it.

    Nice little story.

I just thought it would have been longer. Sooo many characters in such a short book. At least it has a happy ending.
