My quilt guild has been making charity quilts for over nine years and we have quite a stash of scraps. This book has blocks that we can make from these scraps and then a whole new quilt by adding one new main fabric. This book arrives just in time to save us from the scraps! While there are some blocks with inset seams or applique, most are created in simple patchwork. The author even suggests adding a border around the blocks to make them larger. This is where the one new main fabric comes in plus that fabric will tie the whole quilt together. There are four pages of basic information covering such things as applique, scissors, rulers, etc. The instructions for the blocks shows a colored photo of the completed block, materials needed and enough graphics to help you put it together in the right order. The projects include an apron, a bag and two quilts. If templates are needed, they are included at full size. I can’t wait to share this book with my guild. We will make more wonderful charity quilts from these blocks. I wonder what we missed in Volume One?
