great resource
This book is one of the first quilting books I ever purchased, and it is still among my favorites.
The 365 in the title refers (naturally) to the 365 days of the year. Many of the blocks relate to specific days (e.g., secular and religious holidays) and some are associated with events that occur during a month (kites in March, tax day, the first day of school, graduation, etc.).
What I like best about the book is that the blocks range from the very simple (e.g., log cabin) to the very complex (pictorial blocks with upwards of 100 pieces). There are two representations of each block: a small one showing a completed block and a large one which gives the pieces and piecing order of the block.
I like that the book contains collections of blocks. One can find patterns for all monthly birthstones and flowers, and multiple sea / ship blocks, birds, hearts, star, and patriotic themes. This is a wonderful - and very inspirational - reference volume. I highly recommend it.1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Adapt to your needs
Every store I visit which has quilting books, I review them, write down the names, authors and price. Then when I return home, I come to Barnes & Nobles to see what others say before I purchase at a lesser price. This book could keep you busy with a quilt block every day--if you are that type of person (and I know one who is). I have used about two dozen so far for various quilts I am designing and making. Easy to use, fully descriptive, and easy to adapt to your own needs.
