Fun with Whiskey
Kate brings a new approach to whiskey writing. Instead of focusing on the product entirely, she provides context in which it was consumed. When she provides her reviews (and there are dozens), the reader knows where she was at and what was going through her mind at the time of consumption. This is a very interesting approach to whiskey, one not seen in many other book s covering the same subject.

A great read!
I put down two other books after reading just a few pages of this to see what it was about. I acknowledge my taste for single malt scotches, but find that this book was most enlightening. There was nothing pedantic or elitist about it; just two women enjoying the roads and people of Ireland, Scotland, Canada and the US, the distilleries as well as the whiskeys. They express very definite opinions and rate the whiskeys they sample in somewhat colorful language. I particularly liked their descriptions of the distillery tours and the often highly interesting people who operate them. Excellent insights were provided with historical reviews of the distilleries and whiskey industry in each country.
