Cute story.
I had read A Husband for Margaret before this one. I thought they were both cute stories. Short and sweet, but a nice read. I enjoyed it.

Ugh!
There are very few books that I don't want to finish. . . This was one. Very poorly written. No depth. Too simple. I don't like giving bad reviews, but I can't think of what I can say positive.

A Bride for Tom: Ruth Ann Nordin
A nervous man, a reluctant bride, an overbearing momma with a momma's boy attached at the hip, what will it take to find happiness?
This story was a fun read. Only 243 pages long, but worth the time. I laughed, and was happy that it all worked out in the end.
Looking forward to fimding the next book!18 out of 20 people found this review helpful.

Sweet Romance!
This was a quick little afternoon escape for me. However, it was not only sweet, but great for a young lady and what to watch out for if a boyfriend's mom seems a bit too eager.

Predictaa Predictable but sweet
To be set in the late 1800's the language is very modern which seems to make the book a little juvinile. It isnt bad if your expectations are low.

For preteens and teenagers
The story line is too shallow. But i suppose this is appropriate for preteens and teenagers.

its okay
For a quick read it was a cute story. The way it was written annoyed me because there was no depth. It felt like it could have been better if it was extended and written properly. I felt like i was reading snippets of a book because the maon characters were just jumping into things without much reasoning. This is better suited for a school paper.

Oy. Somewhere in the first couple of a pages of a story that is
Oy.
Somewhere in the first couple of a pages of a story that is set in the 1800's a character used the phrase "Ew gross!"
Seriously?
I finished this book and I also read one of her others that was just as shallow. Morbid fascination, I guess. Flesh out the story. Give the characters some depth. And for pete's sake do some research!
It wasn't horrible, but it certainly could have been better.4 out of 5 people found this review helpful.

Not up to par
I was unimpressed wth this book. I found the characters to be underdeveloped and thought the storyline lacked depth and breadth. Additionally, there are several grammatical errors within the text, and I just cant get past that. Not my favorite.

I agree... 5th-grader asssignment
I am a teacher. The story is totally predictable, the language is not appropiate for the time. The characters are not built to be believable. For example, Peter's mom changes her mind about the wedding in one page... and the protagonist (I can't even remember the name) decides not to get married in a blink... If a student of mine would have written this story, he wouldnt have earned an A!!!

No depth.
The plot line is not bad, but it really needed to be fleshed out a lot. The characters were not believable, nor was the dialogue. I laughed, but usually because of the absurdity of the story. This might be an ok book if the characters and storyline were developed a lot more. I felt like the author was rushing through the story, and may have spent little time thinking it through and writing it.
