It seems the author is more concerned about showing off his knowledge of flying than he is on writing a murder mystery. The grammar and typos were so bad that I called it quits after reading just two chapters. Also disturbing was how the author described Rush as being one of the greatest rock bands ever and how each of the three members are the best musicians with their respective instruments. I have no qualms about this assessment as I have a similar opinion, but if you are going to write about this in your book you would think you would spell the lead singers name correctly. The lead singer is Geddy Lee, not Getty Lee. The author should get a decent proofreader and/or editor to reduce or eliminate the poor grammar, typos and errors. Even though this book was free I feel that I overpaid for it with my time lost.

Too much sizzle, not enough steak

I think the author had his book on planes rejected so he tossed in a half baked mystery and sold it. Could have been 200 pages less and accomplished the same story. Wish he would have spent as much time detailing characters as he did planes. Trite storyline, flat characters except main guy, very predictable, cliched lines. Pretty much like reading a very long, bad script of CSI Miami.

    Murder mystery???

Lots of tedious descriptions and music lyrics with a little murder thrown in between. Added nothing to the story-line, and you find yourself skipping a lot of it. You just want to tell the author "get on with it". The girlfriend's murder is avenged rather well though.

    Needs editing

While there were some exciting parts to the novel, much of it was overshadowed by the tedious, endlessly descriptive details that did little to forward the storyline. A professional editor could have shaved 100 to 200 pages off the total length of the 500+ page novel and made the plot race. Instead I found myself flipping forward to find out when the endless (and useless) details about how to repair an Ultralight/pack gear into a plane/set the table/etc... would end. Sometimes extraneous details are a red herring to distract the reader from the final outcome, in this case they just frustrated/bored the reader.

Not a "can't put it down" book

I like mystery novels but this one had too many dry spots. The author needs to invest in a good editor, as well, due to many avoidable errors. I do not recommend this book.

Good story gets lost in fluff.

Way too much attention to how to fly and fix a light plane, music including song titles and the words to them, main character's view of himself and sundry other wandering from the story everyone wants to read. There is a good story here buried in lengthy off course wandering.

    Piss poor

The story is actually kinda' entertaining, but the author is really REALLY dumb--almost illiterate. He pretends to be a know-it-all, but makes so many stupid mistakes (factual, spelling, grammar, etc) that the story loses interest...

Started good, then dragged. Must be an airplane lover to enjoy tedious descriptions.
