A Stunning Personal Work Written Through a Veil Of Tears
Don Barrett has written a story that should be read by anyone who wants to understand how simple it is to end up differently in life than what they imagined. Basically this includes everyone. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
While earning my degree in Social Work, I have read many books on the subject of homelessness. A Day Without A Yesterday is by far the most relatable book I have come across. Don puts forth how easily it is to become a person entwined in the system. Don writes from his heart and the readers will realize this from the first few pages. I have not read a story that actually puts across the idea that the writer "gets it". Don definitely does understand the plight of the homeless and is actually doing something about it. I commend him for sharing his story, and with doing so, he will not only help the many less fortunate among us, but he will greatly help those of us who are also learning how to help them. I plan on recommending this book to the University I attend, and hope it is included in many Social Work curriculums. A Day Without Yesterday would also be a great requirement for anyone going into community development, especially those who are wanting to change the current system.
Thank-you Don for writing and sharing your story
