A near-perfect mystery that takes place in Canada. Lincoln Munro
A near-perfect mystery that takes place in Canada. Lincoln Munroe is a married detective looking for a serial killer in this police procedural. Its an emotional romp with mostly good red herrings and a dash of romance, upsetting the protag and other characters. However (the reason for not giving 5 stars), I had a hard time believing in the manner of finding "clues" related to some of the cases. Made the story sound almost like a paranormal. Still a great read! I'm looking forward to Drake's sequel after reading the included excerpt.

This book is excellent!! I got completely absorbed right away. Recommend reading if you like police mysteries. When I got to the end of this book there was a preview of the sequel "Blue Rubicon". which I quickly purchased. I loved both books!! Harrison Drake knows how to keep a person interested.

Great story, great writing!
Very well thought out plot. Characters are engaging and believable. Story line keeps you wanting more. Hard to put down. The abrupt ending is the bait that leaves you yearning for the next book. And from the sneak peek of the first chapter in the next book, we won't be disappointed.
Thank you Harrison Drake for a great free book. I look forward to reading more from you.16 out of 18 people found this review helpful.

Abrupt ending
I enjoyed this book right upp to the end, where it kinda left me hanging. If I wanted to use my imagination to finish the story I would just write my own story. I really hate that.

GOOD READ
This was a freebie and it was pretty damn good. Lincoln Munroe is a stressed out cop with emotional problems. When a serial killer strikes in London, Ontario, at a disturbingly rapid pace he finds himself under pressure to find the killer so the community can feel safe once again. In the meantime, he is also experiencing dreams and flashbacks of a crime committed years ago that he may have been involved in.
What makes A DREAM OF DEATH utterly readable is the character of Munroe. The man is an emotional wreck and so vulnerable as his life begins to fall apart as he tries to solve the cases and save his marriage. He cries a lot which I found consistent with the feelings and the stresses he goes through. He is a very different and refreshing protagonist that I am used to reading about in detective fiction.
I highly recommend this great Canadian author.5 out of 5 people found this review helpful.

Average Read ...
I enjoyed the book in that as the story goes on the author offers glimpses of what is coming next and you need to use your imagination to figure out what is going to happen next.
I was kind of disappointed with the main character when it came to moral decisions and he always opted to ride that fine line of right and wrong.
It's a murder mystery but there were slavery lessons throughout the book. Overall an ok read but probably won't read anymore by this author.4 out of 6 people found this review helpful.

Interesting!
The writing style was a bit sloppy; nonetheless I enjoyed it and am anticipating the sequel.

Very good. Free book, however, I would pay to read it. Setting is in London and the spelling of certain words are not incorrect according to their schools. You will want to read his other books as well. I am purchasing one now and it is only $4.99.

I really enjoyed this.
Great story. Great detail and emotion. I love a good serial killer/murder mystery. Harry Bosch and Charlie Parker are favourites. The twist with Lincoln is he's not so damaged that he's lost his humanity. Will red more!

The muder
The muder is a good book because its about a serial killer killing random people and the police has never found evidence on the killer

Left Me Hanging
Overall good book, a little slow in some parts. Didn't quite understand the dynamic between Lincoln and his wife (didn't really care for her). It definitely ended in a way that makes you want to get the second book to see what happens next.
