A lasting memory of Mel
Mel Torme seemed to get better and better with age. No doubt that would have stopped and reversed into decline at some point (as happened to Sinatra). But a stroke brought an abrupt halt to Mel's singing career, leaving us with memories of the singer and musician at his best. In what turned out to be his last recording, Mel treats us with what he did best -- play before a live audience. Given what the circumstances turned out to be, it seemed particularly poignant that Mel paid tribute to the then recently departed Ella Fitzgerald and then brought the show to a close with Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye. A great disc with great memories of a wonderful singer. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
