This guide completed my search for a devotional
I am a Methodist. I have always struggled maintaining a daily study of God's word or daily prayer time, and this guide has helped. It sits prominently in front of me at work along with my bible, and at moments of pause or moments of need, I pick it up.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. The book is organized around the lectionary calendar, which has allowed me to explore relevant scriptures used in the upcoming worship each week. This has enhanced my worship experience, as the scriptures are in my thoughts before I step foot in the sanctuary each week.
The book is structured in such a way, that you can construct your own worship or devotional time. It combines prayers and writings of Christians both present and past with relevant scriptures, and flows it in a logical process. There are points in the process where you paint in your own reflections and prayers. You can choose to follow or disregard the flow to tailor it to your situation.
I find Bishop Job's contributions to this guide particularly insightful.
