OMG! An absolute "MUST" read written just for US as mistresses!

Unbiased and straight-forward talk about all aspects of being a mistress. Based on numerous interviews with lovers (the men) and mistresses, it focuses on what we, as mistresses, experience emotionally whether we are looking to stay in or end the relationship. Unlike the heavy condemnation that reigns on the subject, this is written to help prevent the emotional pitfalls mistresses face. The very nature of the relationship makes one feel isolated and unique. This book shows how common the doubts and concerns are in virtually all extramarital relationships. It's written as though the authors secretly followed my relationship; from what he says to my doubts, fears and reactions. It also gives a very eye-opening insight to the lovers' perspective. There's so little out there on this subject, but this book has the best understanding and presentation of the subject by far. It has completely helped me to wrap my mind around my decision and come to terms with my relationship. I can't recommend it highly enough to any woman, single or married, involved with a married man and needing unbiased guidance without any condemnation.

He may tell you he loves you, and maybe he does; BUT we are the world he wishes he could have, but it is never their true reality.

Thank you for writing this book. The man I was involved with, went to a attorney as did his wife. He said he wanted to marry me, and he made a lot of promices. Within two weeks, he ended things with me, b/c he said he could not leave his children. One day you feel that you are loved by the man, and the next, he has nothing to do with you. This book is the real world of what it is like to be involved with a married man. At times it was hard to read, b/c it is the truth. When I have tough days, I read certain sections of the book again. The book is not a 'cure' for the pain, but it is the next best thing to a therapist. It is sad more authors do not write about this topic. We are all treated as though it is only our fault for the man to stray. The man goes back to his life, and we are left with nothing, and have to pick back up the pieces. Thank you again for writing this book. I would recommend this book to ANYONE thinking about getting involved with a married man, or someone that needs to understand the role she plays. Hopefully, more people will read this book, becasue it will save them from self-destruction and pain. 'RUN FROM ALL MARRIED MEN'

    Must read!!!!

Whether you are the mistress who stays, who leaves or even gets the man in the end. There will be some part of this book that is you. My copy has so many highlighted parts in it I was beginning to think the authors followed me around on a daily basis. While for the most part affairs are something to hurt a lot of people and you as the mistress are cast out from most people as the bad guy. Your truest friends will always be there for you in the end. I was in the relationship for 4 years. Now we are due to be married july 2005, the first thing outsiders say is he will cheat on you too. I do believe that there are some out there who really did marry into the wrong relationship for the wrong reasons and their real soulmate is out there. While all the things about he is worried financially and about what his friends will think etc.... all the lines he feeds you to make you stay. All the heartache of the missed holidays and time spent together. THis book does give you the exact truth. WHether you stay or go, its right on the money. Be prepared to reevaluate yourself and your relationship and reread it more than once. I am thankful I stayed, we have finally found the right place to be and partly because of the book and its truths we are still together.

    Don't Do It.

As an ex-mistress today and after reading this book, I always wanted to write to the authors of this book to congratulate them on their "piece of art". They know and understand the different types of mistresses that exist and you (as a mistress) will be able to indentify yourself amongst them. This book helped me go through this terrible period you go through when you break up with your lover..... this feeling of abandonnement and solitude that engulfs you and noone can do anything to help you cause people don't want to know anything about your affair with a married man, anyway, because after all, you are the bad one, you are the guilty one! Well, this book did it. Everything I was feeling was there, black upon white, and this book guided me and brought me out of hell. Thank you so much.I don't know if the authors realise the positive and immense impact this book can have on someone. I recommend this book for anyone who is thinking of getting involved with a married man or is in the middle of an affair with one. Read it..........
