This is my favorite of Terry Spear's shifters, so far.  I simply loved the way Elaine and Cearnach's story began.  I can not really say more about it without being spoilery, but it does not begin in the ditch ;).  Once again Terry created a story of true love with a bit of mystery, adventure, and whole lot of stubbornness on the parts of the main characters and a whole lot of heat.  It really is everything I want in my shifter crack.  No worries if you have not read any of the other books in this series.  This easily reads  beautifully as a stand alone, but be forewarned.  You will want to read the rest of them after getting a taste of her yummy shifter world :) .

In what has to be the best heroine meets hero moment ever, Elain

In what has to be the best heroine meets hero moment ever, Elaine Hawthorn and Cearnach MacNeill meet when she runs him off the road. Cearnach is on his way to a wedding of a friend’s, even though he is very much unwelcome by her groom and his family. When Elaine runs him off the road and damages her car, he drags the American wolf with him. So begins a wonderful, sweet, sexy and funny love story, these do were fated to each other. Watching them fall in love despite their families being at odds, just shows that Ms. Spear is a suberb storyteller.

There are some amazing twists and turns in this story that surprised me. Not every day an author can actually surprise me anymore, but Ms. Spear did so twice in this story. Elaine and Cearnach are both loveable and likeable characters. When there are shapeshifters involved the timeline of falling in love is sped up but it’s easily understandable and doesn’t detract from this story. It’s easy to see why Elaine and Cearnach fall in love, after all he’s a hot Scotsman in a kilt and he’s determined to protect her and easily surrenders his heart.

I loved this story and I highly recommend it. This was a story of love, lust, and buried treasure. This is part of an ongoing series but could easily be read as a standalone, but honestly just read all of Ms. Spear’s werewolves, they are all delicious reads.

IF YOU LET IT GO WILL IT RETURN.... Alpha wolf Cearnach MacNeill

IF YOU LET IT GO WILL IT RETURN.... Alpha wolf Cearnach MacNeill second in command of the MacNeill clan, always wondered what happened to the pretty she-wolf he tried to help in 1785 after she ran away from him.
Elaine Hawthorn an American Alpha she-wolf returns to Scotland after receiving a message from a distant cousin regarding finding the lost treasure her pirate uncles had hidden centuries ago.

Elaine accidently runs into Cearnach (well runs him off the road). She immediately recognizes him, but it takes him awhile to remember her...the lass that ran from him so long ago.
The sparks between them fly. Cearnach takes her home knowing she is kin to the Kilpatrick Clan rivals of the MacNeill's. Elaine makes an impression on the whole family (something she hasn't had in a long time) especially Lady MacNeill , Cearnach's mother & his ghostly cousin Flynn who push for a mating between the two. But sometimes the past doesn't make things so easy.... Terry Spear has done it again with this great story. I can't wait for the next installment in the HEART OF THE WOLF SERIES.

Love this series but am a little frustrated that Terry has moved on to a new series without writing a book about the 4th highland brother.

A Story of Romance, Adventure and Fun

Author Terry Spear begins with a dire situation and picks up speed from there. You’re breathlessly pulled into the heroine’s circumstances feeling her anxiety and her excitement. Elaine Hawthorn, an American gray werewolf, has returned to mystical Scotland to retrieve treasure her family hid away hundreds of years earlier. In her haste to meet a distant relative, she almost has a head-on collision with Cearnach MacNeill, a hot-blooded Highlander werewolf on his way to a wedding. Since he’s unable to drive his car, Elaine is forced to attend the wedding with him. But it turns out the MacNeills are an enemy of her cousin’s clan. Through a twist of circumstances, Elaine and Cearnach find themselves on the run and drawn to each other. Cearnach had been warned by his older brother, the pack leader, not to attend the wedding since his dear friend was marrying into their enemy’s clam, but he had promised he would be there for her. Running into Elaine, Cearnach finds that he wants to be her protector no matter what. He’s determined to make sure she’s safe at all cost despite all the trouble she seems to encounter. His heart will have it no other way. The characters are well-developed and likable. Even though they’re shape-shifting werewolves, readers can relate to their conflicts, emotions, desires and hopes. The secondary characters add flare and flavor to the mix. Spear has an eye for details and her meticulous research shines through in her writing. Her vivid descriptions of the Scottish Highlands places the reader among the characters. You have an instant feel for the region, its people, the sights, and the sounds. Her extensive knowledge of wolves enhances the story. While she spins a beguiling paranormal tale, Spear also incorporates steamy romance, suspense, and good old-fashion storytelling into her books. Spear blends pirates, lost treasure, sexy highlanders in kilts, castles, a mischievous ghost, and enthralling characters into a well-balanced story. She takes you from the past to the present in a smooth flowing story that keeps the action going. The bantering between Elaine and Cearnach will have you laughing, while the steamy attraction between the two sizzles like fireworks on the Fourth of July. A HIGHLAND WEREWOLF WEDDING is a tantalizing read. This is the third installment in the Highland Wolf Series, but can be read on its own. New readers aren’t left in the dark with the references to prior events and people. You can’t go wrong with a sexy highlander and a spunky heroine let loose in beautiful Scotland. A fun book for a summer read or any time you’re in the mood for romance and adventure. FTC Full Disclosure - This book was sent to me by the publisher in hopes I would review it. However, receiving the complimentary copy did not influence my review.

Elaine Hawthorne is an American grey werewolf and she has been living as a lone wolf for years. She has returned to Scotland to search for a family treasure that is supposed to be hidden by her deceased uncles. On her way to a meeting with a distant cousin, Elaine has a near collision with Cearnach MacNeill…which gets fates ball rolling.

Cearnach is second in command of the MacNeill werewolf pack. He is instantly drawn to Elaine and quickly maneuvers a situation so he can spend more time with her.

Elaine finds herself caught up in a century’s old feud between clans with Cearnach becoming her protector and life line in this difficult situation.

A Highland Wolf Wedding was a fast paced, action packed adventure with kilt wearing highlander hotties that shift into werewolves...I absolutely loved it! The romantic tension was smoldering with an interesting ghost intervention. Terry Spear masterfully created a fabulous new addition to her Heart of the Wolf series. Check out A Highland Wolf Wedding.
