a good reference in an attractive package
this was one of the first books i purchased on the topic of japanese gardens. it's beautiful color photos really set the mood and show great examples. there are also lots of technical line drawings for design elements (fences, ponds, layout, etc.) a good discussion on using stones in garden design, and a nice discussion on lanterns. i find it a nice reference for someone like me, an experienced gardner interested in establishing a japanese style garden. a lot of material in a relatively thin book, informative, and attractive package. a keeper. Was this review helpful?
