I had no idea how prolific Teddy Roosevelt was. Was a clever way
I had no idea how prolific Teddy Roosevelt was. Was a clever way to put a book together about this amazing figure in our history!! The text is woven together from many of TR's own books and writings withgreat introductions to all of the pieces. The photos and ephemera are beautiful and moving. But most spectacular is this incredibly handsome tooled leather case. I am buying multiple copies to give as presents.
This is a must-have book.

Content good, nook format sucks-- buy the paper version!
I purchased this for a book club discussion. Its a good insight into the life of Theodore Roosevelt, with some editorial summaries mixed in with entries from Roosevelt's journals and own writings. Photos mixed in put it all into a nice context.
As for the Nook format, its just awful. Its basically a scanned version of the paper version. Every page loads in almost an image quality format on your nook, and you have to pinch open each page to get the font to a readable size, then scroll to read one column of text at a time (most pages have two columns of text, newsprint style) then scroll over and up to read the second column. You have to return the page to it's original size before you can turn to the next page. Forget trying to read it on a treadmill (where I do a lot of reading normally!) The book crashes frequently, and when it does so it takes you to a previously bookmarked page. I have had to get in the habit of frequently bookmarking pages so that I don't have to flip through multiple pages at every crash & re load. Its quite frustrating.
There was only a $3 difference between the hard bound copy & the nook. I wish I had spent the extra $3 for the hard bound copy.
