    Honest and inspiring story

I first heard about this book on the Humane Society's website. I try to do whatever I can to eradicate the nightmare of animal abuse in general and in puppy mills in particular. The author, Jana Kohl, is a true inspiration. She writes from the heart, telling her life story in down-to-earth terms, and how she became aware of what exactly a 'puppy mill' is and how she determined to do what she could to bring the subject to the public's attention. She has succeeded beyond her wildest dreams with this book...it's heartwarming without being maudlin, and the photographs that she has assembled of politicians and celebrities with her rescued dog Baby are amazing when you realize that Baby was due to be killed because her breeding years were over, and here she is being photographed with all these famous people, who so generously gave of their time for animal rights! I can't say enough about this book, and I plan to buy several copies for Christmas gifts.

    A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE!!!!

This book is the heart warming story of a dog and her owner and their journey to stop puppy mills and reach out to all people to try and tell the truth about the mistreating of not only dogs, but all animals. Baby was adopted by Jana Kohl when she was 10 years old. Baby has an incredible story and it is a truly amazing one at that. Follow Jana and Baby as they meet new people, make many new friends, go across the US, and spread the awareness of the animals that we need to protect. This book is for all people. When I say that I mean that even if you have no idea what a puppy mill, or foie gras is, or you don't even own an animal, I urge you to read it. If you choose to buy this wonderful and amazing book, 'which with 100% certainty I urge you to!!', all of the money will not go to the author, but to the Humane Society of the United States. Which helps animals all across the country. Please read!!!

    A must have

Wonderful information that helps open the eyes of people who think that buying pets in pet stores is a good thing. SO many animals are out there that are in need of loving homes. This book explains there are so many other ways to find a lifelong friend and so many animals who are mistreated and abused. Animals deserve respect and love too. A great read!

    Heartwarming

For any animal lover this book is a must read! The horror that Baby and too many other animals face in puppy mills is clearly something which should not be allowed! Kudos to the author for enlightening all of us and hopefully ending this truly horrific situation. At least, for Baby, the fairy tale ending did come true.

    A rare book of compassion.

I think that this book should be required reading for anyone that is thinking of getting a dog. I know what everyone on my list is getting for Christmas. Cudos to Ms. Kohl and much love to Baby.
