    A Slight Scar

Another short story that I downloaded for free. This is a story about a woman who made some bad choices in her youth and worked to overcome it. I did not enjoy this story. It was difficult to read and in parts it because very graphic and violent. The story of her mistakes is brutal and made me uncomfortable. I just thought the story was not very well thought out.

    Vulgar, disturbing, and unrealistic

It's a woman's first day on the job and she's getting filled in about how wonderful her new female boss is from a young and enthusiastic female co-worker. The detail and intimacy of this first conversation had me rolling my eyes, because nobody talks this way with a stranger they've just met, especially in a work environment, regardless of what sexual preferences they may have.

The new girl gets introduced to the boss lady and within 5 minutes of meeting her has gotten a very detailed, vulgar, disturbing, and sad story from the boss's past. Again, NOBODY would reveal deep dark secrets to someone they just met, especially if it's a story they've admittedly never repeated to anyone. The short story ends on a sweet note, but keeping the perspective of the fact it is this woman's first day on the job, I found the whole thing to be disappointingly unrealistic.

It could have been an interesting and compelling read if it were more fleshed out, but there was little to no build-up of the plot or characters' development.
