    The Best Tempts CD

I grew up in a musical family (my grandfather and his brother and their uncle sang in a group from the 50s, and my great-grandmother, grandmother, mother and I all play piano and sing), so I have a great appreciation for REAL music with talented singers. I have always been a HUGE fan of the Temptations, but this Tempts disc remains my ABSOLUTE favorite! I remember listening to my mother's "vinyl" LP from beginning to end, over and over and over. Of course, no male group can compare to the original Temptations lineup that included David Ruffin and Eddie Kendricks. But Norman Whitfield's productions and Dennis Edwards' voice took the group in a new, refreshingly edgier and more soulful direction. Each song on this disc clearly stands on its own, be it a beautiful ballad or a gritty uptempo number. The Temptations continued to make great music after this studio album, but this one displays them at their pinnacle. If you don't have this one in your collection, be sure to pick it up before it's out of print!

    The Temptations still GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the album that made people finally accept Dennis Edwards as a Temptation and let David Ruffin go. The leads by Dennis were soulful and stirring. It ranks as one of the Tempts best studio albums.
