    A reviewer

I purchased this set for myself because my husband was away for the evening and I needed something to occupy my time. As a tool for learning the basics of knitting, I think that it is excellent. I am a visual learner, so the step-by-step pictures were really helpful. However, for anything beyond the basics, let's just say I'm glad that I had the internet because the book doesn't give most advanced techniques more than a cursory glance. For example, I was incredibly confused after reading the descriptions of knitting two sleeves at once and knitting in the round, but after I learned how to do them from other sources, I went back and read the descriptions. While accurate, they were still very vague. I looked through the patterns that were included, but I honestly have not tried to make any. The last time I looked at them, I was not advanced enough to try many of the techniques that are needed and, as stated before, they were not described thoroughly in the book. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to 'take the plunge' and learn to knit, but doesn't want a lot of confusing jargon. Also, the price is very reasonable, considering the materials included.

The book in this kit covers so much-I have a few knitting instruction books, and this is by far the easiest to understand. It explains everything you need to know, and it also comes with needles and yarn-definately worth it. I love this kit! And can finally knit a bobble!
